Course Description:- Amity School of Communication (ASCO) is a premier institute of media education in the Madhya Pradesh region. It was established at Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior in 2010. The focus of ASCO is to promote high quality media education in the region of Madhya Pradesh and produce high quality media professionals – print and electronic journalists, advertising professionals, public relations professionals, photojournalists, and academicians in the field of media studies. The program incorporates six semesters over three years. Students study 11 different subjects per semester with a perfect blend of practical and theoretical knowledge. The teaching methodology is contemporary and modern to keep the students abreast with the ever-changing scenario in the media educational arena, with a fine blend of traditional Indian ethics and value systems. When it comes to real-world training experience for its students, Amity University Gwalior with its industry specific and highly relevant mass communication courses never compromises on quality, and the finest example of the same is the world-class multi-storied studio having an array of latest and cutting-edge equipment extensively utilized in the modern world of print, electronic and new media. The acoustically treated, state of the art audio-visual studio provides the students with a hands-on experience over almost all sort of musical instruments, photography lab, N/L editing room, print, advertising, digital lab and much more. Adding to all the aforementioned, the students of broadcast journalism have a contemporary and specially designed VFX-Chroma enabled newsroom along with its dedicated MCR, voice-room, best-in-class space-age editing bay which is fully supported by Macintosh with up-to-date software and a radio-room from where, one of its kind, online radio named “amiradio” is broadcast by the students. Scope:- The dynamic world of Electronic Media is marked by technological excellence and high competitiveness and innovation, which present enormous challenges and opportunities for the growth of media personnel. There has been an unprecedented growth in the world of communication recently. Predictions are that the field will grow at a faster rate in the coming years. With the rapid augmentation in the number of television sets, news channels, radio stations, advertising agencies, newspapers, journals and Internet industry, etc, the probability of its pursuers having a dynamic and promising career amplifies. A successful student can look forward to working in the field of public relations, television, films, publishing, journalism, editing, direction etc. Lucrative and attractive position as journalist, actor, editor, screenwriter, RJ, producer, VJ are available to the talented and trained individuals in India and abroad.
