Celebrating the71st Independence Day, Amity University Kolkata paid tribute to the spirit ofIndia's freedom and its iconic history of freedom struggle on 15th August,2017.
The students ofAmity University Kolkata pulled off a patriotic cultural event. The morningbegan with Flag Hoisting by our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Sir Prof.(Dr.)Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay in the presence of our Senior Director Madam Dr.Ankita Chakravarty Bhattacharya, faculty members , staff and students of AUKand singing of the National Anthem. The programme started with an enthrallingspeech about our Motherland by our Hon’ble VC sir Prof.(Dr.)Sushanta Mitra,Director of Amity Institute of Applied Sciences & Information Technologyand Mr. Amal Gupta, Director- HR and Admin .
The culturalevent started with an engrossing speech in Hindi by Ms. Heera Basnet (Bsc.Biotech- III)followed by a solo song performance of Mr.Prajal Chhetri's (Bsc.Chem.-III) . A group song on 'Maa TujheSalaam' was performed by Mr.Shubham Sarkar (B.Tech-III), Mr.Prajal Chhetri(Bsc. Chem-III),Ms. Jahida Khan(BA Eng-I),Ms. Syeda Tamanna Arifeen (B. TechCSE-I),Mr. Sudhir Siddhishilha(B.Tech CSE-I) and Ms. Gloria Jennifer Gomes(BAEng- III).
Ms. Nishtha Tewari (BFA-III) performed a solodance on a patriotic number followed by a group dance on 'Vande Mataram' choreographed by Ms. Shruti Majumdar ( B.TechBiotech-III) and performed by the first year students - Ms. Prakriti Subba( B.Stat-I)Ms. Rituparna Dey- (Msc. Eco-I), Ms.Divya Anjali (BAJMC-I), Ms. SeemarekhaGhosh- (Bata-I), Ms. Chelsea Barman – (B.Com-I), Mr. Aniruddha Roy – (BBA-I).The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Eshika Jaiswal (BscBiotech-III) and Mr.Rihant Chhabra (BAJMC-III). Ms. Anmol Grewal (BA Eng-III)and Mr. Atif Imran (B.Tech CSE-V) were the emcee of this event. This programmemarked the unity in diversity as AUK's students, faculty members andauthorities joined hands together in paying a patriotic tribute to our Motherland!
