About the course
Bioinformatics is a knowledge-based discipline involving the use of computer analysis and biological sciences. Amongst its aim is the prediction of biological function from DNA and amino acid sequence data. The course is designed to produce professionals with computational knowledge as well as practical experience
Duration of the course: Four years
Eligibility
Students who have passed
any one of the following, in Science with Biology, with
a minimum of 60% marks for the general category shall be eligible to
apply for admission.
Intermediate Examination conducted by a Board or University established or incorporated by Law.
12 Year product of Central
or State Board under 10 + 2 school
system.Intermediate Examination conducted by a Board
or University established or incorporated by Law. Any
equivalent thereof.
Careers: Employment: Students can go in for Master’s programmes in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology or allied disciplines or for research.
Higher Studies: The course opens up opportunities in bioinformatics, biotechnology, IT and pharmaceutical industries.
