A brief history

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan,
Chairman, AKC Group of Companies &
Founder President, Amity Universities and Institutions
An unassuming man Dr. Ashok K Chauhan has many titles on him. The most successful NRI of continental Europe -1992, the 'Man of the Year' London-1992, the chancellor of Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, Jwalapur, the 'International Man of the year, 97-98 by International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England. The Barter King, The Man with the Midas Touch, the list is endless.
But those who know him closely describe him as an entrepreneur, an educationist, a philanthropist and a humble human being all rolled into one.
Dr. Chauhan's success story started when he left for Germany in 1966. Armed with M.Sc. Chemistry, he pursued higher studies in Chemical Engineering and Plastic Technology in the then West Germany. From there he moved on to become the head of the renowned European Group, Daetiafler. The only such highly placed Asian in West Germany at that time. He then founded the AKC Group of Companies that soon went on to become a global industrial empire.
Dr. Chauhan also has the distinction of being the NRI Member of four select committees set up respectively by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. It was due to his many contributions that President Zail Singh honoured him with the "NRI of the Year Award" for contributing the most in providing technology inputs in India.
Furthermore, Dr. Chauhan was recognised as the biggest Non-German Investor by the German government during the unification of Germany in 1993, when he acquired eight big factories with a work force of 6,000 Germans.
A recipient of dozens of national and international awards, Dr. Chauhan is the Founder President of the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, which is the umbrella body of 35 Amity schools and institutions of higher education in addition to India's first private university - Amity Information Technology University. He is also the Chancellor for the Amity University. There are over 20,000 full-time students presently studying in various Amity institutions located in 12 campuses in India and overseas.
It is with his unparalleled vision and dynamic leadership that the Amity institutions have come to stand for excellence and quality within a short span of time. Dr. Chauhan nurtures the organisation with a unique character and a firm belief that an Indian possesses virtues, qualities and personal traits that are unmatched in the world. Prof. Dr. Asis Datta
Dr. Asis Datta served as Professor and Dean in School of Life Sciences, JNU and later on became Vice Chancellor, JNU. He has been making contributions in basic and applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for more than three decades with over 100 scientific papers in reputable international journals, and with 3 Indian and 4 US patents. Professor Asis Datta received several prestigious awards including Padma Shree (1999). At present he is the Director of National Centre for Plant Genome Research. . Asis Datta and his team have been vital in areas of food / nutritional security and Use of genetically modified food. . His unique achievement that all steps from isolation of two novel genes to production of transgenics and their field release have all been carried out solely by him.
Dr. P. Pushpangadan
Dr. P. Pushpangadan is Director, National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. He is an expert on Herbal plants and their additive values.
Mr. Atul Chauhan
Mr. Atul Chauhan is CEO of AKC Group of Companies and President of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation.
He was born in Germany. He did his B.E in Mechanical Engineering from University College, London and B.Sc. in Finance from London School of Economics.
Mr. Aseem Chauhan

Mr. Aseem Chauhan is a Trustee and Board Member of the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, the umbrella organization of the Amity institutions.
He is also the CEO of the Crossborder Group. With offices in New York, London and New Delhi the company is active in the areas of engineering design, biotechnology and venture capital investments.
He holds degrees in Engineering, Finance and Strategy Management from The Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania and is an alumnus of the prestigious Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology.
Maj. Gen. R.K. Dhawan, VSM (Retd.)
Maj Gen R K Dhawan is a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical Engineering) and a Post Graduate in Communications, Management and Defence Studies. He is Senior Vice President, International Affairs, of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF). His responsibilities include negotiating international collaborations in the field of higher education involving licensing technology transfers, joint ventures, strategic alliances, financial arrangements and business operating contracts with the emphasis on development of state of the art teaching methodologies and programmes for the educational institutions of (RBEF).
