“A PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY FOR THOSE WHO STUDY MIND & BEHAVIOUR”
Of all the problems that human beings have faced since the dawn of the recorded history, perhaps the most puzzling has been the riddle of our own nature. Many avenues have been explored, utilizing a variety of concepts, yet a satisfactory answer still eludes us. Today the problem is more urgent than ever, since most of the world’s ills-zooming population, global warming, ecological pollution, nuclear waste, terrorism, drug addiction, racial prejudice, poverty-are brought by the behaviour of the people. Indeed the quality of human life in the future, probably our very survival, depends upon an increased understanding of the fundamental nature of ourselves and the others.
Future Prospects
The M.A. in Applied Psychology program at AIPS, has been designed keeping in mind the objective of Psychology discipline, i.e., to understand, analyze, interpret, predict & control human behaviour for better life and society. The course offers a broad background in practical applications, experimental methodology and theory construction in the discipline of psychology. In Semester IV students are given an opportunity to choose and specialize in their area of interest. Through field-work postings & internships training students learn to integrate theory with practice & get hands on experience. Special features of the program include experiential learning, and an opportunity to apply new skills in a supervised workplace environment. The program has been designed to give students the opportunities to develop depth of knowledge & critical understanding of the theory, research & intellectual history of applied psychology as well as develop in-depth understanding of themselves as well as of the others.
