The orientation started with an introduction by our Vice Principal, Mrs. Ameeta Mohan ma'am. Ma'am touched upon various topics like activities, transportation academics etc. Then there was an interaction between Ma'am and the parents. Then our staff members one by one, conducted the orientation in the following sequence:

  1. Mrs. Rita Das (KG A) English - She explained how we teach English in the class by showing them real objects and thus giving them practical knowledge. She also clarified about the phonetics that we use to teach the children. Also what all we cover in the whole session and how we go about poems and stories.
  2. Mrs. Neha Mishra (Hindi) – In Hindi, it was explained to the parents that how we write in 5 lines and what is our teaching methodology i.e. to introduce any letter, we tell a story based on the words starting from that letter. It was also told that we teach rhyming words through poem.
  3. Mrs. Sangeeta Rai (Maths) – Using all the aids it was explained to the parents that how we introduce concepts in Maths and how do we use each one of the aid like jodigyan, abacus etc. How we teach addition, subtraction, greater/smaller and what all do we cover in the session.
  4. Mrs. Latha Jayashankar (Scientific Experiments): Here parents we are told that what all steps are taken by us to develop a scientific bent of mind in students, like how we take them out for a nature walk and then we discuss various questions, a science experiment every week in the class etc .
  5. Mrs. Shalina Malik (Activities) – Parents were told about various activities that are extended to our children. What all is done in each and every activity and what all is required by the children as safety measures (if required) was discussed. Parents were briefed about activities like Western Music, Karate, Clay Modelling, and skating, Mini Tennis etc.
  6. Mrs. Ruby Nawani (Festival) – How we celebrate all festivals be it National or Cultural in Amity was told to parents. Parents were explained that how Amity is a perfect blend of modernity and culture.
  7. Dr. Bindu Selot (Counsellor) – She gave a presentation on parenting tips and also explained the parents how we should treat the children as an individual. Children are very sensitive and observant and they catch each and every small thing that we do in front of them. Ridiculing them plays a very negative role on their minds. Dr. Bindu gave a little exercise to the parents. She gave them paper and asked them to try counting anything on that paper with their left hand. Then she gave a negative comment all of them to show how a child feels when he is being commented negatively after he has put a lot of hard work to accomplish any task. So we should always appreciate our children for whatever little they do.

The Orientation was a very interactive sessions. Parents came up with all kinds of queries which were dealt very nicely by our Vice Principal ma'am. Parents were quite satisfied as it was a brilliant platform for them to get their queries solved.
