Times NIE “Student of the Year Award”

Meghna Kaushik of class IX-A of Amity International School, Saket won the Times NIE “student of the year” Award . She received a trophy , a certificate and a cheque of Rs. 1000 as a prize. The award was given on the basis of academic performance, extra curricular activities and overall personality development . Students from all over India participated in the quest for this prestigious award . Meghna is very grateful to the school for its unconditional help and support.

Karate Champions

Amity Saket got 14 Gold, 16 silver and 35 Bronze medals in Karate Championship held on 18th, 19th and 20th April at Bapu Samaj Seva Kendra, New Delhi, organized by International Karate-do Federation of India, Rishabh Arora of Class VII, Megha Revaneti of Class VIII and Aditi Seth of Class X declared the best player of the tournament of their category. Amity International School, Saket got 3rd position in the overall ranking.

Indian Climate Champion 2008 by British Council
Our student Shagun Arora of Class XII B who was selected as Indian Climate Champion 2008 by British Council, is invited to attend 4 days camp from 10th to 13th May, 08 focusing on communicating critical climate change issues in India.

Student will be interacted with eminent personalities from India in the field of Climate change, a workshop on communication skills and also a visit to relevant sites around Delhi showcasing low carbon and energy efficient technologies with the overall objective of mitigating the effects of climate change.

AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT OF SAKET AMITIANS IN THE MOZART CHOIR OF INDIA
18 children of our school have got selected in the Mozart Choir of India organized by Austrian Embassy. These children will be trained by musicians from Austria / France / Denmark for 2 to 3 month. Further selection will be then done to form an Indian Choir. They would also be performing in Austria and other countries apart from prestigious functions in India.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON THE OCCASION OF EARTH DAY
Akhil Bhardwaj of Class XI B has won 3rd prize in “On the spot Essay Writing Competition”, held on the occasion of Earth Day organized by National Museum of Natural History.

BEST DELEGATE AWARD IN INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATION AT NEWYORK
Akhil Bhardwaj of Class XI B has won Best Delegate Award in International Model United Nation at Newyork.

Parimarjan Negi wins as Indian GMs rule in Philadelphia


Tuesday, July 01, 2008 at 1548 hrs Teen Grandmaster Parimarjan Negi proved his extraordinary chess skills by winning the Philadelphia International Open tournament, beating illustrious names including GM Surya Shekhar Ganguly in Philadelphia.

Negi (2529), the second youngest GM in chess history, signed pact with Woman Grandmaster Eesha Karvade in the final round on Monday ending a clear first with seven points out of a possible nine and a winner's purse of USD 2000 in the field of 39 players from five countries, including 14 Indians.
