Dear Parents.
We welcome you all in the beginning of the new academic session 2010-11.
We would like to use this opportunity to apprise you of the moments of pride in the current academic session.

Responding to frugal, environment- friendly initiative of The Energy Resource Institute(TERI) in the form of prestigious inter-school science project competition ‘dckM ls tqxkM’, our school team emerged victorious. The team consisting of Deergha Sharma and Adhar Sachdeva of class IX clinched III position in a closely contested regional level science model making competition 09/04/2010. 26 teams of Delhi & NCR participated in it. The Competition was held at India Habitat Centre,Lodhi Road,New Delhi.



We take pleasure to inform you that three students namely Swaraj Bose ,Shraya Singh and Khushboo Sharma of Class VIII cleared the National Talent Search examination (NTSE) stage one exam in 2010. It is contextually mentioned that only about 60 students are selected from entire Ghaziabad district. The second stage of this very examination commenced on May 9th ,2010.

In yet another regional level inter school Roller Skating championship held on 23rd and 24th April at Sneh International School, Delhi, our school team of ten children claimed Gold medal. The Team included Anmol Tayal,Lokesh Kumar,Vasu Aggarwal ,Chaitanya ,Aakash Chaudhary,Palas Tayal,Nitish Kumar, all from class V , Shivam Thakur,Rishabh Sharma ,both of class VII and Anmol Baluja of Class VI. It is indeed a moment of pride for us as there were scores of competing schools in this championship.

Our gymnastic Teacher Mr. Heera Lal, brought laurel to our school when he was nominated a judge/referee by the Gymnastic Federation of India for the national level event.

In the UP State Muay Thai Championship (The National Game of Thailand) 19 of our students figured in the final team who will represent U.P. State in the 11th National Muay Thai Championship scheduled from 22nd to 27th May 2010 at Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bangaluru, Karnataka.

IPL is the latest buzzword in India today and has a great fan following among the youths. You will be glad to know that three of our students i e Chitra Jain, Sanchit Kumar and Rohan Gupta interviewed the popular players of the Rajasthan Royal Team in Jaipur and had a first- hand interaction with the sports-icon. It goes without saying that these students left lasting imprint on the players with their wit and acumen. The venue of the interview was Amity University, Jaipur.



Earth is facing unprecedented environmental challenges today. The only way to face them effectively is to be aware and responsible to respond to the emerging needs. Apart from usual programmes, workshop and awareness campaigns, two workshops conducted in this month need special mention. In the Earth Day workshop on 23rd April 2010 in the school auditorium, the resource person Dr. R.K. Dutta, the veteran scholar, impressed the audience by his eloquent and powerful presentation of Global environmental concerns.



In another Earth Day workshop on 26th April 2010 in the school premises , resource person Dr. Kambli presented pertinent issues with empirical evidences. Dr. Kambli is a senior scientist who has worked with Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India besides other important placements. He underlined the need to heal the ailing earth and collective initiative towards correcting the same.



22 students from our school from class VI to IX participated in a day long bird watching workshop organized by National Bal Bhawan New Delhi. They acquired minute knowledge of feathered species of India, their present plight and our social response to their predicaments.

The Dhananjay Mohan Science Symposium , a mega Inter school event, have always been a coveted trophy, organized by Amity Vasundhara Sector-6. This year symposium was held on 27th April. The event aimed at familiarizing the youth with the influential role of science in acquainting the students about their surrounding, their health and life beyond earth. Our students triumphed in the (1)Discussion, (2). Quiz and (3). Model- making competitions by claiming 1st position in the first two events and 4th position in the model making, outperforming more than 27 schools from Delhi & NCR.





The team of renowned National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi presented a nail biting drama ‘fdrkcsak esa gypy’ before the target audience of classes VI to XII, regarding the futility of rote and fragmented learning. The effectiveness of presentation can be adjudged from the fact that students remained literally spell – bound for over one and a half hour. Obviously, it broadened their approach to learning. Our school is one of the centre for NSD’s month long summer camp from 20th May to 19th June 2010.





In yet another social initiative to sensitize our future citizen (students) towards their social responsibility, our teachers Ms. Neha Sharma, the Jr Coordinator , and Ms. Asha Rani, along with students participated in the CBSE organized sanitation workshop on 26th and 27th April 2010. Ms Neha was specially entrusted by the school to interact and initiate in this meaningful endeavour.
The referred programme is a sincere effort of the government to correct social perception about public hygiene .It can be testified by the fact that Ministry of H R D under Mr Kapil Sibal has assigned special effort towards it and Mr Amir Khan has been made its brand ambassador. They are committed to pass their harnessed skills about public imperatives on to the students.
In conformity with our top priority to foster reading habit, we called two important children’s authors to interact with students and stimulate readership among them. The authors Ms Surekha Panindiker and Ms Indira Bagchi had a long enthralling interactive sessions with Students on 4th and 5th of May 2010 respectively .The target audience were Classes IV- to VIII





Global exposure enriches the learning process. Two of our class IX students ,Prapti Alok and Shruti Mahajan got the honour of participating in the 3rd International conference of young Researchers of Natural Science from 24th April to 27th April 2010 in Nicosia ,Cyprus.This project was on Hospital Waste Management with special reference to value recovery. Representatives from five Countries namely India, Hungary, Cyprus, France and Republic of Macedonia worked on various projects along with verbal presentation and poster display.

The Global Times is an established monthly publication of Amity, offering opportunity to Amitians to showcase their creative talent amidst healthy competition. The First Global Times Award Function for Making a Newspaper Contest was held on 12th of May at Amity University, Sector 125 Noida .Our School bagged a number of awards.

In individual category Ankush Jain of class XI got 1st Runner up trophy in the Best Graphic category ,Swapnil Tandon of class IX bagged the 1st runner up prize for best photography Chitra Jain was honoured and appreciated for being the Official Cartoonist of G T .

Special Mention Awards for the whole-hearted contribution was given to two students namely Aditi Sharma of class X and Kristi Verma of class XI.
In the School Award category, we bagged the second runner up trophy for the Best Design. Nominee Certificates were awarded to Savi Khanna, Alankrita Srivastava and Chitra Jain of class XI and Vrinda Tayal of class IX. A Mentor Teacher Trophy was awarded to our G T teacher Coordinator, Mrs Sudhi Bhatia.

In order to contribute to a better international environment and to the maintenance and development of harmonious foreign relationships with Japan, two students of class XI –Chitra Jain and Harshit Tayal will be visiting the Okinawa University to present their project,on ‘Water’ therby promoting goodwill through their scientific prowess and temperament.

The WE Model United Nations Conference (WeMUNC 2010) is Asia’s biggest Model United Nation’s conference with over 2000 delegates participating from 35 different countries .Five students from AIS,V will be attending this premier conference. They are : Shruti Kumari , Amrithaa S, Ishan T, Shubham S from class IX and Pritish from class VIII.

It is an academic simulation of a4the UN organs,with a larger objective to sensitize young leaders about various global issues which need urgent solutions.
