To commemorate the birthday of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, the school celebrated Prerna Diwas. The occasion commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting followed by a beautiful performance on orchestra by the school choir. The highlight of the day was the interactive session with the students where the Chairperson shared her life lessons and motivated the students to excel.

Farewell Ceremony

The school organised the Farewell Ceremony for the outgoing batch of Class XII students with joy and heavy soul. The juniors sang and danced to songs like Mitwa, Shaam Shandar, Masti Ki Paathshaala, etc. as they depicted scenes from the lives of students through primary, middle and senior school. Engineering Taster Session

Date: April 11, 2017
Science students of Class XI and XII participated in an Engineering Taster Session held at AIS PV organised under the aegis of ACCGC. The session was conducted by Prof Stephen Watts, Head of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Cardiff University. The workshop’s objective was to give opportunity to the students to go through a taster lecture session and participate in a project conducted by Prof Watts.

NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest

Four students namely Aryaman Pathak, Aryaman Trivedi, Kushagra Verma and Palaash Goel won second prize in ‘Grade IX category’ in the NASA Space settlement Design Contest an annual event cooperated by NASA Ames Research Centre, San Jose State University and the National Space Society. Their project titled ‘D.O.N.U.T’ is a concept for space settlement which involves an interconnected system of two large tori (donuts) where people could reside cantered around a sphere where resources were created and stored. Food, water, air and energy are dealt with innovative ways including vitro cell synthesis for non-vegetarian food, sabieter’s reaction for water and efficient storage for the same.

Evacuation Drill

Date: April 27, 2017

The school participated in the largest evacuation drill conducted for 101 schools for a simulated earthquake of 6.5 and above on Richter scale wherein the school children were also evaluated. The landmark exercise organised by disaster management authorities will be recorded in the Limca Book of Records.

In the honor of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF on the occasion of her birthday, the school kicked off its Earth Week Celebrations, to sensitise students about the inestimable problems faced by the environment. Computer Workshop by Ericsson

Date: April 27, 2017

A group of 16 girls participated in an innovative and futuristic computer workshop organised by Ericsson. As part of the workshop, the students were taken on a studio tour of futuristic technology that would exist in the year 2030. The aim of this workshop was to encourage girls to take up ICT as a profession as the stream has seen a deficit of women professionals, which according to statistics in only 17%.

Wharton Investment Competition 2017

Team AIS Noida titled ‘One up on Herd Street’ bagged the second position in global finale at Knowledge@ Wharton High School (KWHS) Investment Competition held at University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. The competition saw participation from over 15 schools across the world was organised by KWHS- an initiative of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA. The opportunity extended by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF aimed at imparting students with financial literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership skills at a global level.

Zilina Model United Nations (ZAMUN)

Date: March 30- April 1, 2017

Siddid Kaul from the school along with five other students from the Amity Group participated in ZAMUN held at Slovakia, organised under the aegis of AERC. ZAMUN witnessed 136 delegates from across the world, who reviewed, assessed and debated upon major issues of global concern. The trip concluded with Amitians visiting the prestigious UNO office located at Vienna to get a real feel on the functioning of UN Committees.

Lenovo Little Thinkers

Date: March 2017 to April 2017

Kushgra Verma (IX) bagged the grand prize of Rs 1 lac towards college grant while Hargun Kaur Sodhi (VII) won the Lenovo Mix Tablet in the Inter-school ‘Lenovo Little Thinkers’ competition from March to April 2017. Sabyasachi Bhoi (IX) also won a Lenovo wireless mouse as a surprise gift in the competition. The students had to express their ideas through a self-made 2 minute videos on the topics- ‘How technology can improve the cost and quality of education’ and ‘How technology can improve the environment’.

Appreciation Letter by PM

Rachit Bhatia of Class IV E, received an appreciation certificate from PM Narendra Modi as acknowledgement for his innovative ways of water conservation. Affected by the severe drought conditions in summers, Rachit wrote a letter to the PM suggesting ideas as compulsory rain water harvesting in schools, colleges, hotels, hospitals, societies, etc, and a request to initiate ‘save water’ campaign on similar lines as Swachh Bharat campaign so that children can participate in it.

The school team comprising 12 students qualified for participation in the prestigious thirteenth annual Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition (ARSSDC) held at Gurgaon. The competition gives a platform to high school students to discover their innovative streak and design a city in space, apt for housing over 10,000 people.

The orientation programme conducted for the parents of Class XII students commenced with lamp lighting ceremony followed by a welcome address by school Principal Renu Singh. Two teams from AIS Noida participated in the Regional Level CBSE Science Exhibition. Team 1 comprising Bhavya Nagpal and Pankhuri Joshi presented their project on ‘Food Adulteration Detection Economic Kit’ while Team 2 comprising Anushka Agarwal and Yukti Gupta presented their project on ‘Miraculous Phytochemical Cleaning Agents’ in the regional level.

Hackers Cup

Date : January 20, 2017
The school participated in the mega security summit ‘Hackers Cup’ organised by Amity Education Group, Cyborg Cyber Forensics and Information Security (CCFIS). Students took part in various domains namely Robotics, Cyber Security, IoT, followed by ‘The Cyber Security Summit'. Palash Goel (IX I) bagged the first prize in Cyber Security, followed by Sabyasachi Bhoi (IX I) and Ananya Grover (IX B) at the second and third positions respectively. In IoT category, the first position was bagged by Ameya Jaiswal of Class VIII K, whereas the second and third positions were secured by Rishit Singh and Siddharth Johar (VIII K). In Robotics category, Arihant Singh (VIII L) bagged the first position, followed by Abhishek Khurana and Shashwat Singh (VIII K) at the second positions. The consolation prizes were bagged by Sarthak Sharma (VI D) and Varun Jindal (IX B).

Workshop on Colonization of Mars as part of Amity's Science Conclave

The school organized a workshop on colonization of Mars. Dr Saikia, from the School of Aeronautics & Astronautics, Purdue University, USA was invited to address the science students at the school. He explained the step by step procedure for launching a spacecraft in a cycler orbit, landing on Mars and setting up a colony at Mars. He sensitized the students on the problems related to launching a full-fledged space program for human exploration.

A special assembly was organised for the nursery and kindergarten children to reinforce the importance of rain, the mythological connotation behind it and the importance of monsoon. The school organised its annual day for Class III to V on April 8, 2016. The chief guest for the evening was Dr Pratibha Pralad, Padma Shri, a renowned Bharatnatyam danseuse and Founder Delhi International Arts Festival. The highlight of the event was the musical ‘Hauslon Ki Udaan’, an adaptation of Ian Fleming’s novel Chitty–Chitty, Bang Bang. Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, in her vote of thanks encouraged the students to become global citizens who can make meaningful contribution to the world, while keeping their values intact. The event culminated with the finale song ‘Hathon mein lekar haath bharle unchi udaan,’a gala performance that saw the participation of all the 1500 children present on the occasion.

Summer Coaching Camp

Date : May 15-25, 2016
The school hosted a ten-day resident sports camp, now in its second year, that trained students in three sports viz cricket, basketball and football. A meticulously planned sports camp, an initiative of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, chairperson, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF, not only trained students in various sports but also various life skills, grooming them to become stronger and more competent individuals. It witnessed the participation of 100 students from various branches of Amity across Delhi & NCR. The closing ceremony also saw the distribution of certificates and prizes to the winners.

GEOMATY 2016 - Social Science Festival

The school organized GEOMATY 2016- an inter school Social Science Festival for the eighth consecutive year based on the theme - progressive mankind and the changing world’ & the heritage of our state Sikkim. The festival conceptualized by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan aims to promote the love of Social Science in children in a fun way.The festival saw over 45 schools take part in a number of competitions as Dance drama, Nukkad natak, Face painting, Quiz, Map interpretation, graffiti making etc. To add to the fervour, several stalls and carnival of music and dance were also put up by the students. Senior Prize Distribution

The school held its senior prize distribution ceremony in two legs. While the scholastic achievements were held on May 4, 2016, the co-scholastic achievers were felicitated on May 6, 2016. Awards were given for academic performance, all-rounders, subject toppers, meritorious students and for amicable personality. A weeklong celebration to sensitize the students towards the environment culminated on April 27 with the celebration of Prerna Diwas that marked the birthday of Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF. The celebrations saw an exhibition on sustainable use of resources where students put up science based projects, experiments and activities, besides the various items made during the week.
The week saw children participate in slogan and essay writing, penning poems and stories, making head gears, masks, jungle scenes and book-marks and special assemblies with save the environment as the basic theme.

Junior Prize Distribution Ceremony

The prize distribution ceremony of Classes nursery, KG, I and II to V were held on April 25 and 26 respectively. The ceremony commenced with soulful rendition of Gayatri Mantra, followed by other songs as Nanhe Munne Hum Nadan and the achiever’s song, ‘It takes strength of spirit’. The highlight was a dance item Achuytam Keshavam Krishna Damdoram that dwelt upon the invaluable teachings of devotion.

The school organised a parent orientation programme of class XII students with the aim of apprising them about all the important issues connected with their wards appearing for Class XII Boards.

She The parents were also apprised about the examination schedule to be held through the year, in order to fare well. The parents were introduced to the senior faculty members. The school hosted the valedictory function for Inter Amity Sports Competition on March 31, 2016. AISN Hosts CBSE Head Examiner’s Meet

The meet commenced with the welcome address of school principal Mrs. Renu Singh, Principal. Mr Manoj Srivastava, Regional Officer, CBSE, speaking on the evaluation process, gave useful tips to ensure parity in correction. The subject expert, Mr. GB, Pandey, Principal, DPS, Mathura Road, discussed the Question Paper and Marking Scheme in detail providing comprehensive guidelines for evaluation of the Business Studies answer scripts. Each question and its expected answer was discussed in depth leaving no room for any ambiguity or doubts. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Sneha Sharma, Senior PGT, Commerce, AIS Noida.

The citation ceremony commenced with an auspicious ‘Havan’ to invoke the blessings of the almighty. School Principal Mrs. Renu Singh in her welcome address urged all to seek inspiration from the life of the Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan in making India a knowledge super power. The newly constituted Student Council members were formally inducted in a special function attended by the heads of Amity institutions and the proud parents of the office bearers. School Head Boy, Mudit Gupta and Head Girl, Mann Garg administered the oath of office and pledged to serve as perfect role models for the student community. School principal Mrs Renu Singh blessed the new appointees and urged them to don the mantle of responsibilities with dedication and commitment. Chairperson Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan in her address reminded the new council members to uphold the ideals and vision of the Founder President, Dr. Ashok. K. Chauhan as well as the responsibilities and expectations synonymous to their post. School Vice Principal Mrs Jyoti Arora proposed the vote of thanks.

Inter-Amity Mental Maths Quiz Class IX

The school hosted the inter-Amity Mental Maths quiz for class IX on Jan 22, 2016. The event commenced with the prayer and lamp lighting by the chief guest Mr. Sudhir Nagpal. School Principal Ms. Renu Singh, in her welcome address mentioned, that quizzing was a very creative way of learning, and so her school was always keen on such activity based events. The quiz comprising several rounds, dealt with topics like algebra, geometry, puzzles and logical reasoning. Amity International School, Saket lifted the winners trophy followed by AIS Gur- 46.
