Teachers’ Training on POCSO Act

Manas Foundation in collaboration with the school held a workshop to initiate a comprehensive discussion on Mental Health and related themes. The workshop utilized videos, pictorial cues, interesting activities and teacher participation to encourage facilitation of psycho-educative discussions and contextualizing it to the lives of students and teachers.

Slovakian Music Performance

Students from Class VI-VIII had the pleasure of watching a live performance by Mr. Matej Kolenic, a Fujara and Shamisen player from Slovakia. They were enlightened about the traditional Slovakian musical instruments like Fujara and Koncovka as well as the three stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument Shamisen. He was accompanied school Tabla teacher Mr. Tansen Shrivastava.

Film Screening
Date January 12, 2018
The school organised screening of short film ‘Vande Mataram’ by filmmaker and artist Swapna Maini along with dance to a mesmerizing rendition of the thought provoking national song, revamped and sung by Sai Ganesh. The event also saw student Mohika Shankar dancing to Sai Ganesh’s melodious voice and an accompanying ‘Padhant’ by Swapna.

Investiture Ceremony

The school organised the Investiture ceremony for the junior and senior student’s council. The newly appointed council members marched to the beat of drums and were felicitated with sashes and badges on the occasion. The council members along with Head Girl Ayushi Singh and Head Boy Chirag Sethi took an oath to perform their duties with utmost integrity and sincerity.

Citation Ceremony

The citation ceremony commenced with lamp lighting and havan followed by a warm welcome by school Principal Divya Bhatia. The outgoing batch was bestowed upon with citations by the Chairperson and special prizes were also given to students for their impeccable achievements. Children also spoke about their association with the school and thanked teachers and staff members for nurturing them with love and care.

Winter carnival
Date December 16, 2017
The annual winter carnival of school was celebrated with a lot of fun and laughter with the ground decorated with balloons, streamers and Christmas trees. All classes put up their game stalls with full enthusiasm. Children queued up for the giant wheel and all other joyrides. The raffles and the food added special attraction for the visitors.

Alumni Meet

The school opened its gate and hearts for the alumni members of the school on the evening of the Christmas Day. School Principal Divya Bhatia welcomed the Alumni students with smile and thanked them for their gratitude and success. The first batch from school in 1999 shared their experiences and thanked Chairperson for giving them their first steps towards the journey of success. It was day filled with numerous memories.

The students from school undertook an initiative and worked under the umbrella of Project Citizen towards eradicating child mortality. Under this project, they took several interviews and participated in numerous activities. They had the opportunity to interview Mr Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi. The interaction started with Mr Kejriwal answering the questions raised by students, addressing all the concerns that the research of the students pertaining to the issue highlighted. Overall, it was a very enriching experience for the students.

Cyber Security Workshop

The school organized a cyber-security workshop for the parents of the students conducted by Rakshit Tandon, Director Executive, Council of Information Security and Cyber Security and a member of Advisory Board of Cyber Crimes and Cyber Bullying. The workshop discussed some important issues like fake profiles on social networking, defamatory posts, bullying on the internet, hacking, and various issues faced by students while using internet, etc.

The school celebrated Founder’s Day with great enthusiasm. Chairperson graced the occasion with her presence along with Pooja Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, AHF and Anita Setia, Senior Consultant, HR and Training. The occasion also saw the felicitation of winners of ‘Creative Edge’ along with scholarships being awarded to the meritorious students of Class 12th Boards. The prestigious Founder’s Trophy was awarded to the seven star scholar Kalash Gupta of Class XI. Chairperson congratulated the achievers and their proud parents.

ECOM Forum 2017

The school organised its 20th Intra- School Economics and Commerce event titled ‘ECOM Forum 2017’ on October 17, 2017. Over 27 schools from Delhi/NCR participated in the competition. The event comprised two competitions Symposium and Fintoons which discussed current issues like GST and black money, making rural India global, demonetization, digitization, etc. The first position was bagged by Dhanya Visweswaran from school along with Jahnvi Vig from AIS Noida in Symposium.

Build a start-up workshop
Date : August 1-5, 2017
The school organised a ‘Build a start-up’ workshop for Amity Group of Schools that provided end to end knowledge of entrepreneurship cycle from the initial phase of evaluating a business idea to the actual business launch. The workshop organised under the aegis of AERC and conducted by experts from Germany, concluded with the participating teams sharing their unique business ideas judged by experts. Team ‘Leaf it’ from school scored the second position for their ecofriendly idea of recyclable paper with seeds.

Vanmahotsav

The Vanmahotsav programme and Independence Day celebrations organised together by the school commenced with planting of saplings. Students highlighted the need to plant trees to prevent global warming and reduce pollution. The programme progressed with flag hoisting ceremony and release of pigeons & balloons in the sky followed by a song presentation by the school choir.

Rakhee celebrations with Indian Army

The school’s Head boy Sahishnu Sharma, Interact Club President Eeshna Gupta, along with volunteers from Class V, VI, XI and XII went to the Delhi Cantonment Area to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with the warriors of our nation. The initiative was taken up to express the sense of gratitude and pride towards the armed forces. The officers gave insights about the ‘fauji life’ and guided the students about the selection procedure.

Science experiment on evaporation

The little children of Class KG were introduced to the process of evaporation through a Science experiment on how vapours are formed in the sky and comes back to Earth in the form of rain. The children were then explained further that water cycle in nature also functions in the similar manner. The experiment made children learn new terms like evaporation, condensation and precipitation.

Yellow Colour Day

The Nursery classes celebrated Yellow Day to recapitulate and reinforce the effects of yellow colour. The children came dressed in yellow colour, brought yellow objects and even had their tiffins filled with yellow colour eatables as bananas, jelly, lemons, mangoes, etc. Activities such as drawing, coloring, colour dabbing, paper craft etc. were also conducted.

Atal Tinkering Lab

Three young students Prateek Vachher, Shreya Shailan and Ritwik Sarkar from school visited ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair) at Los Angeles and Maker Faire at San Francisco as observers. The students were sponsored by NITI Aayog that was impressed with their pitch for the prestigious Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) granted by NITI Aayog to enhance scientific temperament among the students. The school was placed as one of the top three best performing schools in their pitch for the lab.
