Students of Class IX attended the Tech Talk held at AUUP by tech genius Tanmay Bakshi, a 15 year old tech wizard, who started coding at the age of four and is a known name in neural networking and machine learning. Students had an insightful interactive session with the youngest cognitive and cloud computing developer, who has built applications engineered to augment human capabilities via deep learning.

Founder’s day

Date October 25, 2018
Founder’s day was graced by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, Mrs Pooja Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation and Mrs Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Arts and Fashion Technology. Mr. Manjit Singh Chauhan, Mr. H.K. Aggarwal, Mrs. Uma Mehta Jain & Mr. B.K. Goswami under whose names the scholarships have been instituted were among the other dignitaries present. An interactive session was held between the Chairperson and students during which students asked various questions related to study, life and career. On this occasion meritorious students and achievers were also felicitated with scholarships and awards.

Science Film Festival

Date October 9, 2018
Students from the school attended the second Science Film Festival organised by Goethe Institute, held at Amity University organized under the aegis of AERC. The event aimed at infusing scientific temperament in students through engaging platform of cinema. The highlight of the programme was launch of Science film ‘Living the Change’ based on the theme ‘food revolution’ and the issues of climate change. This was followed by a panel discussion where students came up with ideas to overcome the problem of global food shortage. Dr Leonard Emmerling, Director Programmes South Asia, Goethe Institute; Dr. Carl Jochen Dill, Head of Educational Services, South Asia, Goethe Institute and Dr CM Nautiyal, an eminent educator and scientist graced the occasion with their presence.

IISF 2018

Date October 5, 2018
Eight teams comprising 14 students of the school were selected to present their projects in the national Nav Bharat Nirman competition in India International Science Festival held at Lucknow. Students presented projects as smart walking stick for visually impaired, automatic plant watering system to name a few. Jaskaran Singh Chabbra, Siddharth Sahu (XI) won first prize; Aayushi Kaushik, Kavya Joshi (IX) came second and Viraj Khanna (VI) bagged third position. The prizes were given by the Honourable Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan which motivated the students to further do well in science. A total of 55 projects were selected all over India out of which eight were from Amity Group of Schools.

Spic Macay

The school hosted an Odissi performance by Geeta Mahalik Padmashree for students of Classes VIII-X. Accompanying her on vocals was Prasant Behera, on mardala was Prasant Mahana and Dhiraj Pande on flute. The performance organised under the aegis of Spic Macay saw the highly proficient as artist explained the nuances of classical dance and its relation to our cultural heritage to the students.

Inspire Camp

Date July 16-20, 2018
Anukriti Manchanda, Pranjali, Arpit Gupta, Divam Nangia, Sarrah Samaiyah and Ayush of Class XI attended a 5 day Inspire Camp organised by Shivaji College, Delhi University from July 16-20 where they attended lecture given by eminent scientists and had some interesting practical sessions. They also visited the Biomedical Instrumentation lab at NPL.

Commerce Department of the school organized an Intra School Economics & Commerce event titled ‘Ecomite’ for the students of Class XI. Three competitions were organised under the aegis of the event viz: Economics Symposium, Game Plan and Mock Stock. Students discussed current issues like Oil Price hike, Trade war between U.S and China and GST, proposed some innovative start up ideas and also did mock investments in stock market during the event.

Prerna Diwas

To celebrate the birthday of beloved Chairperson the school observed Prerna Diwas on May 3, 2018 with her benign presence. For the entire week different activities based on Human Values were done. Students also presented a dance drama titled ‘Aapki Kahaani Hamari Zabani’ based on numerous anecdotes and stories from the life of the chairperson. Chairperson interacted with the children and wherein she shared her dreams, vision, her value based upbringing, experiences, etc. She iterated that the idea behind choosing ‘Vidya Dadati Vinayam’ as Amity logo was to nurture very successful but humble genius young minds who will bring happiness to the world they live in.

Orientation Programme

Date April 5-21, 2018
Orientation program was held for parents of Classes KG-XII, which enabled parents to assimilate all the required information regarding the school for a better and more focused involvement of their wards. Each class had a separate session on different days. The parents were apprised with the curriculum, use of Amitranet and exam related queries relevant for each class level.

Nursery Orientation

The programme was conducted to give parents an insight into the curriculum and teaching methodology of the school. Dr Kanika Khandelwal, Head, Department of Psychology, Lady Sri Ram College, graced the occasion and shared her expert advice on ‘Settling the child when starting school’.
