All the students from 1st year to 5th year are required to prepare project reports on topics assigned to them in the core subjects each semester. The students are required to make court visits and observe the procedure and also to get training in client interviewing and counseling technique. They are being regularly deputed for placement training with lawyers, law firms, law offices, NGOs and others during vacation for practical training.
In addition, the students of the final year are required to select topics for legal writing which are being evaluated on the basis of their presentation and viva. In the final year it is compulsory for all the students to prepare dissertation on topics assigned to them which will be evaluated by a Board consisting of an expert on the subject approved by the University, the faculty member in-charge and the Director. The students are also encouraged to publish articles in reputed law journals. The law school has a bi-annual publication entitled Amity Law Review in which selected articles written by the students are included for publication.
During the 10th semester, the students are placed on internship with lawyers and law firms and they are required to give a detailed report on their placement activities along with certificates from the authorities with whom they are placed. This is being scrutinized by a committee of experts and marks are awarded on the basis of their performance. This will form part of their final marks.
