Moot Court-Activities & Achievements

 

In order to become a successful lawyer it is essential for a student to know how to apply the law he has learnt to a fact situation and to have awareness of the rules and the etiquettes of the Court. Moot Court competitions are like the laboratories of law schools where theoretical knowledge is tested in real life situations. Realizing this, the Amity Law School has been facilitating continuous training to the students to participate in Moot Court competitions organized by various universities and law schools in and outside Delhi. The School has also been hosting a number of moot court competitions to test the mettle of the future lawyers of the country. The school has an impressive record of achievements in moot court activities. Some of these achievements are:

August 2001 – July 2002
  • The school made a mark in Delhi by securing the 1st prize for theBest Team, Best Mooter and Best Memorialin the All Delhi Moot Court Competition organized by the GGS IP University.
  • Secured the 1st prize for the Best Team in the competition organized by Campus Law Centre, Delhi.
August 2002- July 2003
  • Won the 2nd Best Performance prize in the competition organized by the GGS IP University.
  • Won the 2nd Best Performance prize in the competition organized by the Campus Law Centre, Delhi.
August 2003– July 2004

A significant year for the Law School as it secured recognition at the national level.

  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Gentleman Advocate, the 2nd prize for the Best Performance and the 2nd prize for the Best Memorial in the competition organized by the University Law College, Bangalore.
  • Secured the 2nd Best Performance prize in the moot court competition organized by the Government Law College, Mumbai.
  • Secured the 2nd Best Performance prize in the All India Moot Court Competition organized by the M.P. Law sCollege, Aurangabad.
  • Secured the 1st prize for the Best Performance in the All Delhi Moot Court Competition organized by Law Centre-I of the Delhi University.
  • The most important achievement during the year was our students’ success at the national round of the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition. Our students were declared qualified at the Indian national rounds of the above competition held at the University of Chennai to represent India at the World Finals at the Stetson University College of Law at Florida, USA.
  • Declared qualified at the Indian national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition held at Army Institute of Law, Mohali to represent India at the international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition held at Washington DC., USA.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Memorial and the 2nd Best Team prize at the All India Moot Court Competition held at the KLE Society’s Law College, Bangalore.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Researcher, the 1st prize for the Best Memorial, the 2nd Best Speaker prize and the 2nd Best team prize at the All India Moot Court Competition held by the Government of Law College, Mumbai.
  • Participated in the Willem C. Vienna Arbitration Moot Competition & Hong Kong Arbitration Moot Competition held at Vienna & Hong Kong respectively.
August 2004- July 2005
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Memorial at the Raj Anand Moot Court competition held at Delhi.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team and 2nd prize for the Best Mooter in the competition organized by the Army Institute of Law, Mohali.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team and 1st prize for the Best Student Advocate in the All India Open Moot Court Competition organized by Campus Law Centre, New Delhi.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team, Best Student Advocate, Best Male Student Advocate and Best Memorial in the competition organized by the Society for Spreading Legal Awareness Amongst Masses (SSLAAM India), New Delhi.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Individual Researcher and 2nd prize for the Best Team in the competition organized by the GGS IP University, Delhi.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team in the National Client Interviewing and Counselling Competition organized by the Kerala Law Academy Moot Court Society, Kerala.
  • Declared qualified at the Indian national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition organized by the Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. Won the 2nd prize for the Best Team, 2nd and 3rd prize for the Best Student Advocate and 4th prize for the Best Memorial in the Indian National rounds.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Memorial & 3rd prize for the Best Team in the Surana & Surana International Technology Laws Moot Court Competition organized by ILS Law College, Pune.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team in the competition organized by the Law Centre-I, Delhi University.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Speaker & 3rd prize for the Best Team in the international rounds of the M.K. Nambyar Saarclaw International Moot Court Competition.
  • Won the 2nd prize for the Best Team in the Competition organized by the D.M. Harish Memorial Government Law College, Mumbai.
  • Won the 3rd prize for the Best team & 4th prize for the Best Memorial in the Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition organized by National Law University, Jodhpur.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Advocate & 3rd prize for the Best Team in the All India Moot Court Competition organized by the University Law College, Bangalore.
  • Won the 2nd Prize for the Best Team in the India national rounds on the Commonwealth Regional Moot Court Competition 2005 organized by NALSAR University, Hyderabad
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team & 1st prize for the Best Speaker in the competition organized by the Army Institute of Law, Mohali.
August 2005 – July 2006
  • Won the 1st Prize for the Best Team in the Raj Anand Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition organized by Anand & Anand Advocates, Delhi
  • Won the 1st Prize for the Best Memorial in the 1st Surana & Surana National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition, 2005 organized by Surana & Surana International Attorneys & National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team in the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition-2005 organized by Surana & Surana International Attorneys & National Law University, Jodhpur.
  • The team participated in the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition held at Floridain October 2005 in which one of our students viz; Mr. Divyam Aggarwal was awarded the Third Best Oralist in the International Finals (Preliminaries)
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Speaker, 2nd prize for the Best Team & 1st prize for the Best Memorial , in the Fifth All Delhi (NCR) Dr. V. K. Jain Memorial Moot Court Competition-2005 organized by the University School of Law and Legal Studies, IP University, Delhi.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Speaker & 2nd prize for the Best Team in the Nani A.Palkhivala Memorial National Tax Moot Court Competition-2005 organized by Government Law College, Mumbai.
  • Won the 2 nd prize for the Best Team in the 2nd All India Moot Court Competition organized by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Mangalore.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Memorial in the 5th Surana & Surana Technology Moot Court Competition organized by the Surana & Surana International Attorneys.
  • Won the 2nd prize for the Best Lady Advocate in the 2nd Luthra Memorial All India Moot Court Competition organized by the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Speaker & 2nd Prize for the Best Team in the 6th National Level Moot Court competition organized by the Manikchand Pahade Law College, Aurangabad.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Speaker in the moot court competition organized by the B.V.Bellad Law College, Belgaum.
August 2006 – July 2007
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team & 1st prize for the Best Speaker in the Raj Anand Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition organized by Anand & Anand Advocates, Delhi. Mr. Shaunak Kashyap won the award for the Best Speaker.
  • Won 1st prize for the Best Budding Lawyer in the Moot Court Competition organized by the New Law College, Bharti Vidyapeeth University, Pune in January 2007. Mr. Brijesh Chaudhary won the Best Budding Lawyer award.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Researcher in the K. C. Law National Moot Court Competition, Mumbai.
  • Won the 2nd prize for the Best Team in the 3rd Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial National Tax Moot Court Competition 2006 organized by Government Law College, Mumbai.
  • Won the Spirit of Surana Award for overall excellence in the Moot in the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition-2006 organized by Surana & Surana International.
August 2007 onwards
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Team in the North India National Rounds of the Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition to be held in Washington D.C. Ms. Deeksha Sharma was declared the best speaker and was awarded full scholarship for her post graduate studies in the Singapore Law University. The scholarship includes full fees, boarding and lodging expenses, return air fare and stipend.
  • Won the 1st prize in the National Quiz Competition & 2nd prize in the National Client Competition in the Annual Law Fest of Baroda School of Legal Studies, Vadodra in October 2007.
  • Won the 1st prize for Best Researcher & 2nd prize for Best Speaker in the K. C. Law College Moot Court Competition held in January 2008.
  • Won 2nd prize for the Best Team in the M. P. Law College 8th National Moot Court Competition.
  • Won 2nd prize for the Best Team in the Shivaji University Moot Court Competition held in October 2007.
  • Won the 1st prize for the Best Memorial in the 1st NALSAR Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Moot Court Competition 2008.
Amity National Moot Court Competitions

Since 2002 Amity Law School has been hosting annually National level moot court competitions in which students from reputed law schools/colleges/universities have been participating. We have been receiving a large number of nominations from various institutions all over India for participation in the competition. The competitions are being judged by Hon’ble sitting Judges of the Supreme Court and the High Court as well as eminent practising advocates, judicial officers and Professors of Law.
