About the Course

A diverse and intensive program of study in journalism and mass communication is offered by the Amity School of Communication. This course is relevant for students planning a career in public relations and promotion, institutional relations, information services, technical writing, newspaper and magazine journalism or radio and video production, or journalism.

Journalism training cannot come merely through lecturing on press laws or on basics of editing and reporting. It is something that one learns by doing. That's why it has to be interactive and production-oriented.

Aim


At ASCO, the aim of this course is to offer budding journalists hands on the sets experience to accomplish the following:

  • Writing reports and features as per the subject or beat assigned.
  • Producing a monthly newsletter, including writing articles, editing them and designing the newsletter.
  • Editing PTI copies which are checked by prominent journalists.
  • Producing documentaries under professional guidance.
  • Freelancing for various national newspapers like TOI, HT, Pioneer, Hindu etc.
