Bachelor of Mass Communication
About the course

The BA Mass Communication is an academic programme of study in which information media and entertainment forms are learnt, scrutinised and critically analysed. The programme innovatively combines elements of academic training and professional practice and many of our graduates go out as full-fledged media and communication professionals-Correspondents, Reporters, Sub-Editors, PR & Advertising Professionals among many others- to contribute to the world of media

The Programme aims to develop

  • Critical and analytical thinking skills
  • An understanding of the historical and cultural bases of the study of the media and their roles in modern society
  • Skills in the close analysis of different media texts, including print; visual; audio and audio-visual products
  • The ability to read, analyse and synthesise complex written academic texts
  • The ability to research, write and critique their own written projects according to high professional academic standards
  • The ability to use modern information technology in researching and presenting their work
  • The ability to effectively articulate their thoughts and ideas
  • The ability to work both independently and in groups
