The Valedictory Function, Prize Distribution and Closing ceremony of Sangathan – 2005 (Amity Inter Institutional Sports Meet) to mark the Founder’s Day was held at Amity Campus, Sector- 44, Noida on October 24, 2005. Sangathan 2005 saw more than 2000 players participating from various Amity institutions. The event was organized at different Amity campuses as well as in the Jasola Sports Complex and swimming competition held at Talkatora Stadium.

Amity International Business School was declared the overall winners of Sangathan -2005 and BBA as the runners up. Mr.Karan Khanna of Amity International Business School and Ms. Anuradha of Department of Physical Education were declared the Best Sportsperson of the event.

Encouraging the enthusiasm of the students on the occasion Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President – Ritnand Balved Education Foundation commented: ‘Amity believes in nurturing talent. The sporting talent showcased by the students is exemplary. Sportsmanship and teamwork – the qualities required to excel in sports are the same as required to succeed in life. Classroom studies cannot teach what can be learnt from the field.”

Speaking on the occasion Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson- Amity International School, said: ‘Sport is played for enjoyment and to develop skill, fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship. Courage is very important to succeed in one’s life and one can acquire courage by being an active participant on the field.” Appreciating the overwhelming response of students in sports, she lauded the students for sharing their respect for sports and the vision of their Founder President.

The month long event included inter institute matches in Cricket, Football, Hockey, Basket Ball , Volleyball, Table Tennis, Squash, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Shooting, Tug of War, Carom, Chess, Athletics, Cross Country, Judo, Karate, Kabaddi and other games. In Badminton, Amity Institute of Biotechnology defeated BBA in the finals. Amity International Business School were the winners in Cricket (Women), Tug of War (Men), Volleyball (Men), Hockey (Women), Football (Women), Judo (Men & Women), Karate (Women) and Basketball (Men & Women). In cross country meet, it was B.Ed that took away the award both in men and women section.

Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor – Amity University on the occasion expressed gratitude towards all the great visionaries present to motivate the students. He further encouraged the youth by reaffirming his faith in their capabilities to realize the vision of the Founder President.
