Workshop on Energy Conservation Act 2001- Implications and Implementation.

Amity Institute of Energy and Environment organized a one-day workshop on Energy Conservation Act 2001 on March 11, 2005.In the inauguration ceremony, the experts from the field of Energy conservation expressed their view on “Energy Scenario in the Indian and the global fronts”. Shri S. Das, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) expressed his view on the ill effects of Energy production, and focused particularly on the wastage in terms of inefficient burning of Fuels.

Present on the occasion Shri K.K Chakrabarty, Energy Economist, BEE talked about the role of Energy Auditors and Energy Managers in relevance to energy act. The experts from NDPL, NTPC, ONGC, Indian Airlines, NHPC, Powergrid Corporation, Ashoka Hotel, BHEL etc discussed and debated on the pros and cons of the Conservation Act and shared there industry experiences. The valedictory address was headed by Shri R.K Narayan, Former Chairman, Powergrid. The workshop was concluded by summing up of the lessons drawn and awarding of the certificates to the esteemed participants.
