Centre of International Business organises "International HR Summit "

Centre of International Business (CIB), Amity Business School organised its Second Global HR Summit at Noida Campus with zeal of enthusiasm and dynamism. The theme for the event was “Integrating People, Culture and Change - HR Strategies for building Global Organizations.”

The summit provided knowledge-sharing platform to HR executives, with the objective of addressing key issues pertaining to the HR Industry, which is the base for business strategy and operational performance.

Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh & President RBEF, in the welcome address, stressed on having a congenial Parent - Child and a Mentor - Mentee relationship. He emphasized on personal management not is only in the corporate scenario but also in our day to day lives. Mr. Chauhan further stated that efficient management of HR, for getting the work done through people, is an essential part of every manager’s responsibilities.

Dr. Gurinder Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh and Dy. Director General, Centre of International Business, Amity Business School, stated “In today’s corporate arena, organizations must absorb, manage and integrate change at a much faster rate than in the past. In order to implement successful business strategy an organization must ensure that it has the right people to make it work”. Further, he explained the Criterion, Concept & Research Methodology of the HR Excellence Awards, and extended gratitude to all the dignitaries for making the Global HR Summit a scintillating success. Prof. David Gillingham, Dean, Coventry Business School, UK, in his keynote address expressed that HR Department holds a prominent position in shaping up the destiny of any organization.

Guest of Honour, Shri.V Thulsidas, Chairman & Managing Director - Air India, in his brief address, said that, "it was a great opportunity to witness such an event which focuses on the issues involved in effective HR Management".

The International HR Summit aimed to draw kaleidoscopic observations and rich exchange of ideas among Researchers & Practicing Managers. Main attractions of the conference being - Panel Discussion, Plenary Sessions on Integrating people, Culture, and change – HR strategies for building global organizations, Awards for excellence in HR Field – Amity HR Excellence award, Amity "Young HR Manager" award, Amity Best HR Practices award, Amity Best HR head award, Amity Media Excellence awards, Research paper presentation on – Competence mapping, Leadership, Capacity building and performance management etc.

The Plenary Session was chaired by Dr. Samuel Paul, Chairman, Public Affairs Centre & Public Affairs Federation, Bangalore & Former Director of IIM Ahemdabad. He talked about the role which the management institution plays to shape the destiny of the nation. The Moderator for the session was Mr. Subash Jagota, COO, Global Business Solutions. Soon after the Inaugural Session, a Concurrent Session on Research Paper Presentation was organized, judged by Dr. S.S Vernekar, Director, Bharti Vidyapeeth Institute of Management & Research, Delhi.

On the second day at the grand finale, the Valedictory Function was hosted to honor the contributions of the personalities whose determination, perseverance and commitment has helped the organizations to excel. At the Valedictory function of the Global HR Summit “Amity Global Business Review”, an International Research Journal was released by the Centre of International Business, Amity Business School.
