Amity Insurance Cricket Cup - 2005 Inaugurated

The 4th Amity Insurance Cricket Cup was inaugurated by Shri. Vivek Razdan, International Cricketer and commentator and Shri. Ashok Shah, Zonal Manager – Life Insurance Corporation of India. Mr. Atul Chauhan - President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation lauding ASIAS on the efforts put in organizing the Cup declared the competition open.

Shri. Ashok Shah, the Chief Guest on the occasion stated: “Cricket is an International game and has considerably received wide press and television coverage. The recent fund raising match for tsunami victims was televised live to 122 countries - an estimated audience of one billion. The match has raised cricket's profile immensely as a sport with a human face, a sport that rallied to support tsunami victims in their hour of need.” He appreciated Amity’s effort to have organized an event whose fund shall be used for a noble cause.

Shri. Vivek Razdan graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor and commented: “Cricket used to be a game played by only a few countries. But now this picture is changing fast. Cricket is conquering the world, including some of the most unlikely spots. The tournament is happening at the right time since the cricket fever has again gripped the crowd with India winning the series against Sri Lanka. Youth in the Indian team has proved that they have the talent, similarly the players in this tournament should play at their best.”

The Cup is dedicated to support the Foundation’s NGO arm, “AMITASHA”, working for the education and up-liftment of ‘girl child’ belonging to the disadvantaged sections of the society. This year ten companies are participating namely LIC, MAX New York Life, Oriental, Metlife, National Insurance, HDFC Chubb, ICICI Lombard, BAJAJ Allianz Gen, TATA AIG Gen, and HDFC Standard.
