Guest lecture on Retail Merchandising
Amity School of Fashion Design and Technology, Amity University Gurgaon organize a guest lecture on Retail Merchandizing on 17th November 2017 by Ms Shikha Pandit, a Merchandizing consultant.
In her welcome speech, Dr Suniti Sood (Director ASFDT) introduces Ms Shikha Pandit that she had a rich experience with over 23 years in the apparel/textile/fashion business. And she has spent 20+ years at Triburg Sportswear (one the biggest buying houses in India which represents US & retail brands in India to manage European retail brands design, product development, sourcing and shipping products of them)managing a large portfolio of retailers in the US and had a long association with Polo Ralph Lauren and its associated brands like Polo Jeans Co, American living, Chaps and Denim. Apart from that she has worked with highend brands like Gap/Old Navy, Giorgio Armani, Marco Polo, J Crew, Nine West, Jessica Simpson, Guess and DKNY.
Dr Shikha Pandit being her speech with a briefing about her professional career that she started from fabric department (R & D and Production from Indian mills and Far East) and worked for product development process across Men’s and Women’s business. And currently, she is working as an independent consultant to re-engineer their merchandising systems and process. She had briefed about the career opportunities available in merchandising and shared practical knowledge on the lifecycle of a product; from product development to production and shipping & a merchant’s role in the same.
