Guest Lecture of Dr Ranjita Ghosh

Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Gurgaon organized a guest lecture of Dr Ranjita Ghosh Moulick on the topic “Versatile application of Nanotechnology in Biology” on December 15, 2017.

Dr Rajendra Prasad briefed about Dr Ranjita Ghosh that she worked on the posttranslational modifications in haemoglobin in type II diabetes and showed how the glycation (both glucation and fructation) lead to structural changes in haemoglobin. Then She moved for a Postdoctoral position at the Institute of Complex System 8, Forschungszentrum Juelich, Germany. She had also worked on Field Effect Transistor based Biosensors development and on the investigation of Neuronal signaling on biomimetic membrane as an interface on metal electrodes. It was truly an interdisciplinary research where she utilized her knowledge of chemistry and biology to design a biosensor that has been granted a European patent. And currently she is working as Young Scientist (DST-SERB) in the Department of Physical Sciences, JNU, New Delhi.
