Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organizes National Conference on Communication, Integrated Networks and Signal Processing (CINSP-2018) on 31st January, 2018

Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized a National Conference on Communication, Integrated Networks and Signal Processing (CINSP-2018) on 31st January 2018. The objectives of the conference were to have the current global economic scenario discussions upon related to the robust computer and communication networks infrastructure being and its contribution to the sustainable development and inclusive growth of the society as a whole. The focus of the conference was crucial as we transit to and embrace new paradigms such as Internet Smart Cities, Make in India projects, etc., it is inevitable that Information and Communication technology will play a pivotal role in transforming India into a knowledge–led economy and society, by digital empowerment of citizens and job creation. In this conference more than 100 papers have been received from the various colleges and universities of India, out of which 85 papers have been selected for publication after peer review.

The Inaugural session started with an auspicious lamp lighting by the Chief Guest Dr. Gulshan Rai, National Cyber Security Coordinator, New Delhi,  the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), the Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, AUMP,  Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, Organizing Secretary of the event and Director ASET, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) S. C. Jain, VSM** (Retd.), Dean Research, Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Bajpai, Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) R. S. Tomar, Registrar Mr. Rajesh Jain, Deans, HOIs, HODs, faculty members of Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior and participants, which was followed by Saraswati Vandana and felicitation of the Guests.

Thereafter, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) delivered the opening remarks and enlightened the participants with the importance of Communication, Integrated Networks and Signal Processing, the importance of Internet in daily life, its drawbacks and various thrust area of research in the field of Communication, Integrated Networks and Signal Processing. In his speech he gave importance to the rapid proliferation of mobile phones as a tool to bridge the communication dissemination across geographical locations, which has empowered people, opened new opportunities, access, and possibilities, through many conventional services like banking, education, marketing, television and routine transaction payments via mobile phones. He also put emphasis on the telecommunication and mobile-service start-ups and developers, and the challenges pertaining to security of networks, software-applications and data.

The Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker of the conference, Dr. Gulshan Rai, National Cyber Security Coordinator, New Delhi, delivered his speech on the different areas of Information Technology which included different aspects of e-Governance, cyber security, cyber laws and several other related fields. He discussed about the four digital revolutionary any components: wearable, augmented reality, filters and social media and cyber space becoming an integral part of the digital ecosystem. He also discussed upon the popular and common digital technologies, like : internet, mobility, encryption (end to end), virtual reality, social media, robotics, Artificial Intelligence, nanotechnology, cloud-computing, hacking, cybercrime, cyber espionage, cyber warfare, cyber threat evaluation, intrusive and disruptive attacks, malware, big-data, etc. He gave MH-370 aeroplane as an example of cyber warfare to explain the emerging scenario of 2025 in professional cyber security roadmaping and governance of the net, etc.

The next session was chaired by Dr. K. K. Pattanaik, ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior, MP, who delivered a talk on “Centric Future Quality of Service Internet”. In his lecture he stressed on the future prospects of internet, its influence upon the various spheres of human life, namely, investment, challenges pertaining to quality service, innovative ways to deal with various cross-domain opportunities, like, embedded devices and intelligent software agents, and the issues and challenges in providing better QoS centric Internet.

After the keynote speech a parallel session commenced with the technical paper and poster presentations by the participants, which was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kumar Upadhyay and Dr. Pankaj Mishra. Thereafter, the Souvenir of the conference was released followed by lunch.

The post-lunch session was chaired by Dr. A. Theodore Nimal, scientist at Solid State Physics Laboratory, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), New Delhi. He delivered a talk on principles, design and fabrication & signal processing devices like “Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices, Sensors and e-Nose”, which are used to realise the delay lines, tapped delay lines, filters, resonators, dispersive delay lines, RFID, etc, used for physical, chemical and biological sensing through mass loading, temperature, stress and strain. He also talked about the improvised class of sensors called electronic Noses (e-Nose) to detect multiple vapours which are at present being developed by SSPL, DRDO for Chemical Warfare Agents.

The one day conference ended with the Valedictory Ceremony with the welcome of  the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Kamaljit  Rangra, Chief Scientist and Head, Transducers and Actuators Group, CEERI-Pilani by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt Gen V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.) along with the Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, Organizing Secretary and Director ASET, Maj. Gen (Dr) S .C. Jain, VSM** (Retd), Dean Research, Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Bajpai, Dean Academics, Prof. (Dr.) R. S. Tomar, Registrar Mr. Rajesh Jain, Deans, HOIs, HODs, faculty members of AUMP, Gwalior, and participants. In his valedictory address, Prof. (Dr.) Kamaljit Rangra talked about the Designing, Modelling and Fabrication of high frequency MEMS devices and systems, Vacuum-Microelectronics, MEMS packaging technology, digital micro-mirror devices for imaging, IR-MEMS detectors, RF and optical MEMS, analytical techniques for devices and materials, and MEMS process-design.

Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, the Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, gave the concluding remarks by explaining the various aspects of communication, integrated networks, cyber security, the importance of internet in daily life, and the future research area.

Thereafter, the winners of the best technical paper and poster making were awarded certificates and prizes by the Hon’ble Chief Guest Dr. Kamaljit Rangra along with the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), the Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik  and the Director ASET, Maj. Gen (Dr.) S. C. Jain, VSM** (Retd.).  The Best Paper award was given to Mr. Abhijeet Agarwal, Mr. Manik Chandra, Mr. Pramod kumar and Mr. Tejaswi Sachwani from DEI Dayalbagh, Agra, for presenting their technical paper on the topic “Design and Analysis of Intelligent Fire Detection” and the Best-Poster award was given to Mr. Nripesh Gupta, a student of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior for presenting his poster on the topic “Blue Brain – The Virtual Brain”.

The vote of thanks was proposed by the Organizing secretary of the conference Maj. Gen (Dr.) S. C. Jain, VSM** (Retd), Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior.
