Guest Lecture on the Structure-based design of Potent and Selective inhibitors of Human Kinase

Dr Imtaiyaz Hassan, Assistant Professor, Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences,  Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi delivered a talk on the topic of 'Structure-Based Design of Potent and Selective Inhibitors of Human Kinase: An Emerging Anticancer Drug Discovery Paradigm' for the students of Biotechnology of Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Gurugram , on 17th April 2018. Dr Hassan, who is expert in structure-based drug design and protein folding & dynamics, spoke on methods of identification and validation of potential drug targets (human kinase) using computational methods. He stated that how these drug targets are subsequently cloned, expressed and purified for structure determination. He had presented the learning of his group integrated with the knowledge of protein structure with its folding and dynamics using computational biology as well as in vitro and in vivo methods to achieve novel therapeutic molecules. He had shared that his 180 publications in the last ten years have achieved remarkable attention by scientific community and received more than 2500 citations (h index =27 and i10=index 85) and recently he has been selected among top 10 scientist from India under the category of “Most outstanding Researchers” in the field of Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology by career360.
