Amity University Madhya Pradesh Celebrates 72nd Independence Day on 15th August 2018

Amity University Madhya Pradesh celebrated the 72nd Independence Day of the Country with patriotic zeal and spirit on 15th August 2018 and remembered with gratitude the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd).  This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Following this, all Amitians pledged to contribute to the Swachchh Bharat Mission. Thereafter, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the Amitians. He congratulated the Amity family on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day and urged everyone to contribute to the Clean India Mission. He pointed out three major deterrents to India’s growth: corruption, lack of internal security especially for women, and dishonesty towards self, nation and national development. He also motivated the students to be independent in terms of learning, as knowledge is not restricted to classrooms.

Immediately after the hoisting of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University, the students, staff and members of faculty were administered the oath of Cleanliness. Each Amitian pledged to keep his/her surroundings clean. She also pledged that they would neither dirty their surroundings nor let anyone else to do so. After the pledge.

Various cultural programs were a part of celebration of the Independence Day which included Patriotic Songs and Poetry Recitation by the students of AUMP.

Present on the occasion were the Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) M. P. Kaushik, Registrar, Deans, Directors, HoIs, HoDs, Faculty & Staff members as well as a large body of students.

The programme culminated with the distribution of sweets.
