Visit to Parle Industry
Students and Faculty from Amity Business School, Amity University, Chhattisgarh, recently visited a production unit of Parle at Saddu, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The unit produces Glucose biscuits.
The unit head, Mr Naveen Singh, informed the group of faculty and students about various products manufactured by Parle Products. Students gained knowledge about processes involved in the unit’s functioning, supply chain management and history of Parle Products (industry). The officials also apprised students about Parle Products, which has become a brand to reckon with, through an informative presentation.
The presentation was followed by a visit to various sub-units, including Quality Control and Production Unit. Students witnessed different stages of manufacturing process; right from processing of raw materials to making of finished products. The students’ group acquired basic understanding of the industrial work, learnt importance of team work, understood skill set required in food production industries. The firsthand account of the visit to manufacturing unit will help students in preparing for placement drive.
The visit concluded with students conveying their heartfelt wishes to the concerned authorities of Parle Products for shedding light on various aspects of the production unit.
