Expert Session on ‘Radio Industry: Functions and Operations’
Amity School of Communication recently organised an interactive session cum enrichment lecture titled ‘Radio Industry - Functions and Operations’. Prominent radio jockeys Rahul and Kshitij from Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM addressed a gathering of students.
The session commenced with a brief about profile of radio jockeys, their roles and responsibilities, opportunities and learning as well as challenges in this coveted profession. The guest speakers shed light upon key qualities that an aspiring RJ should possess for a great start and a successful career in the industry. Dwelling on vital traits of a successful RJ, Rahul and Kshitij told speakers that one should have a good sense of humour, presence of mind and effective communication skills to engage the audience. The session was followed by a Q&A round.
The students’ cohort also took part in different simulation activities that made it an interactive and thought-provoking session. The simulation tasks included dialogue delivery, a game of tongue twisters and many more. The winning participants were provided with gift hampers and free passes to events.
The department head of ASCo, Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Nayak, presented a memento to radio jockeys as a token of gratitude and appreciation. The lecture and interactive sessions were attended by all faculties and students.
