Amity School of Engineering & Technology organises a Workshop on "Network Security and Ethical Hacking"

A workshop cum seminar on Network Security and Ethical Hacking was organized by SECURECON The Amity Network Security Club, Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET) on November 03, 2009 at F2 Block Auditorium in Amity campus

Mr. Swapan Purkait, Owner & Director, Nettech Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Sunayana Shetty, Managing Director and Nettech Programs Co-ordinator, Nettech Pvt Ltd. addressed the faculty members and senior students of B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) & B.Tech. (Information Technology) of ASET

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics) & Director General, ASET welcomed the guests. Maj. Gen. A K Jain, Addl. Director, ASET and HOD-IT, Prof. Kesar Singh, HOD-CSE, Dr. Malathi Subramanian, Director Student Affairs, Dr. J. S. Sodhi, Asst. Vice President, AKC Data Systems and Mr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Chairperson SecureCon and Lecturer (CSE) graced the occasion with their presence.

Mr. Swapan Purkaitpresented his insights and views on how the computer system and network can be vulnerable to hacking and how can this be prevented. The information was imparted about how common people and even IT experts fall into traps of evil minded Network Analysts and also why it is necessary to prevent the system and network from being hacked. All the concepts were explained through practical and live examples. The audience showed lot of excitement & interest during the event & raised many queries which were all attempted to and answered concisely by the keynote speakers.
