To continue this legacy the University has included Personality Development as an integral part of curriculum of our university.

The aim of Personality Development Programmes (PDP) is to give students a better perspective of maintaining a balance between preparing themselves before entering into a workplace and knowing themselves.

The methodology of this program is that ‘Knowing oneself is half the battle won.’

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are imparted to the students which are crucial to increase employment opportunities and to compete successfully in the business environment. The soft skill training provides strong practical orientation to the students and helps them in building and improving their skills in communication, the effective use of English, Business correspondence, Presentations, Team building, Leadership, Time management, Group discussions, Interviews, and Inter-personal skills.

Military Training

Making You a True Leader

All students undergo 7-days Military cum leadership Training Camp held at Amity University Gurugram. Students are trained by veterans of the armed forces.

Country comes before self. That's what we learn at Amity. A sense of patriotism comes into being at the Military Training Camp. Now, I have developed a stronger bond for my country and promise to dedicate myself to the nation's development.

At the Military Training Camps, Amity students imbibe the value of discipline and a spirit of patriotism, commitment and perseverance by participating in a variety of activities like parasailing, trekking, shooting, rock climbing/rappelling, etc. which test their mental and physical agility.

Foreign Languages

The Linguistic Advantage

Amity provides an international perspective to the students through the international language programs.

The foreign language course has been integrated into the curriculum. The students have a choice to select one of the foreign languages from French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese and Russian.

Communicative Method at par with recent International trends in language pedagogy is used to teach foreign language. Language classes are taken with pedagogical aids like audio cassettes. Videos are also produced by teachers to make learning effective and joyous.

It is mandatory for each student to select any one foreign language of his/her choice as part of the course. For foreign students we teach "Hindi" as a Foreign Language.

In keeping with the Amity vision of making its students become global citizens, the Amity School of Languages offers courses in the following foreign languages:

  • Russian
  • Japanese

Value added courses in communication and behavioural science have also been offered as the compulsory course in all programmes.

Grooming for Interviews

An important part of course curriculum is enhancement of confidence in students to come out with flying colours in interviews and group discussions.

The training covers key aspects of preparation, dress for success, winning the body language and non-verbal game, answering difficult questions, refreshing business etiquette, as well as aspects like winning the group discussion and extempore speaking with confidence.

The methodology followed is by presentation and discussion of techniques for gaining competitive edge, practise of public speaking and group discussion techniques and individual attention through mock interviews.

Values & Ethics

101 Attributes of an Amitian

The education framework at Amity is rooted upon certain key values and ethics. It stresses on principles such as patriotism, courage, and respect for elders. It is this sense of purpose that has led to the creation of the '101 Attributes of an Amitians'.

This booklet on the norms & guidelines explores 101 different character traits that take an individual closer to completeness. The attributes have been built into the teaching activities, group activities and have been included in topics for lectures and discussions by students.

All institutions of Amity celebrate ‘Human Values Quarter’ during which a wide array of events is organized to spread awareness about the importance of human values.

Counselling

Expert Personal & Professional Advice

The unique Mentor-Mentee Concept at Amity ensures a constant interaction between the faculty and the students. A faculty member is assigned to a group of 8-10 students to counsel them on their academic and personal concerns. Their experience enhances student’s confidence to excel in the corporate world.

In addition, Amity has a full-fledged Amity Counseling and guidance center for students who encounter any personal/ emotional problems.
