Over 15,000 people run half marathon in Gurgaon on 26th February 2017
Over 15,000 people competed in seven races in the fourth edition of Amity gurgaon Half marathon on Sunday 26th Feb 2017.
Participants include professionals from various corporate firms such as Tata Consultancy Services, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UBER, Medanta, Titan and devyani International.
The Half marathon was from leisure valley park till tau devil al stadium via huda city centre metro station. Amity international school and artemis hospital.
Those participating in the 21km run finished at tau devil al stadium and those running the 10 km race finished near amity school. The five km race finished at huda city centre metro station.The event which started at 5 am and finished around mid-day was organized by Amity University Gurgaon. It was supported by Hindustan Times as a media partner.
The half marathon attracted participants from across the world. Nayan Nitesh from Kozhikode, Kerala, ran the race to set a new record. I wanted to set a new personal record by finishing a half marathon within 2 hours. Despite overshooting the time by few minutes. I am satisfied with my efforts and will look to take part in full marathon next year nitesh said.
A contingent of 80 personnel take part in the race. Over 300 police personnel were deployed for security and to ensure safe passage for runners. More than 25 schools of gurgaon & delhi also took part in this marathon.
Overall it was an very mega and successful event in the end for the peace and unity in the people of gurgaon city.
