The Office of International Affairs welcomed a nine- member delegation from Florida International University, USA on 27thAugust, 2018 for enhancing Internationalization at Amity University Gurugram.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma along with Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Padmakali Banerjee; and Vice President – RBEF and Director International Affairs, Dr. Gunjan M Sanjeev welcomed the delegation with a floral bouquet and presented Amity Memento to all the delegates.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma spoke about the changing global scenario and shared that how things are changing globally in the system of higher education. According to Prof. Sharma, a broader agenda will be required and there will be a need to develop global community working for a common cause in near future.

The delegation was focused on exploring mutual areas of interest in Engineering and Technology fields; Forensic Sciences and Management. Thus the delegation had a detailed meeting with Directors and Head of Institutions from various schools at Amity University Gurugram.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor requested all the Directors / Head of Institutions to be present at the meeting to talk about their respective schools briefly and share the recent developments and achievements of the Schools.

The delegation was led by Dr. Kenneth G. Furton, Provost & Executive Vice President, and Professor of Forensic Chemistry at Florida International University. His team comprised, Dr. Meredith A. Newman,

Vice Provost, Faculty & Global Affairs, and Professor of Public Administration; Dr. Joanne Li, Dean, College of Business, and Eminent Scholar and Professor of Finance; Dr. Sumit Kundu, Associate Dean for International Programs, College of Business, and James K. Batten Eminent Scholar Chair and Professor of International Business; Dr. Ranu Jung, Chair of Biomedical Engineering, and Wallace H. Coulter Eminent Scholars and Professor of Biomedical Engineering; Dr. De Etta Mills, Director, International Forensic Research Institute, and Associate Professor of Biology; Ms. Sarah Noppen, Director of International Admissions; Ms. Birgitta Rausch-Montoto, Director, Faculty & Global Affairs, and Fulbright Scholar Program Campus Liaison; and Mr. Timothy Long, Multi-Media Manager, External Relations at Florida International University.

Both the Universities also signed a Memorandum of Understanding.  Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, AUH; and Dr. Gunjan M Sanjeev, Vice President – RBEF and Director International Affairs represented Amity University during the signing of the MoU. On behalf of FIU, Board of Trustees, the MoU was signed by Dr. Kenneth G. Furton, Provost and Executive Vice President; and Dr. Meredith A. Newman, Vice Provost, Office of Faculty and Global Affairs.
