Amity School of Engineering & Technology organizes National Seminar on "Communication, Network and Cyber Security" (NSCNCS-2016)

A two day National Seminar on “Communication, Network and Cyber Security” (NSCNCS-2016)  was organized by the Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh on 13-14 April 2016. The Chief Guest of the inaugural session of the seminar was Lt Gen (Dr.) S. P. Kochhar, AVSM, SM, VSM, Former Signal Officer in Chief, Indian Army and CEO of Telecom Skill Council of India. The stage was shared by Dr. H. M. Gupta, Professor IIT Delhi, Lt Gen V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), Vice Chancellor of AUMP, Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, Pro Vice Chancellor AUMP along with Prof (Dr.) Anshul Gangele, Dy. Director – ASET. In the opening remarks Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma focused on various opportunities and challenges in the area of, Communication, Computer Networks and Cyber Security. He also mentioned past and present technologies in communication. The keynote speaker Lt Gen. (Dr.) S. P. Kochhar emphasized on ”Technological aspects in Indian Scenario”. In his talk, he gave an insight into the exciting world of BIG DATA which is nothing but mathematics. The speaker also provided the details of the various Govt. policies like Digital India, Make in India, Skill-India etc.

This was followed the invited talk given by Prof. H. M. Gupta, IIT Delhi, on “Energy Conservation in Wireless Network Protocols”. In his presentation, he addressed various issues and the scope in Wireless Network protocols. He also focused upon the limited energy in mobile devices which has created challenges in design and operation of such networks.

The proceedings of the seminar were released on the day of inauguration. The souvenir contains compilation of 132 papers, which were selected after peer review process out of one hundred sixty papers received from various scholars/ researchers.

During the Seminar on invited talk was given by Prof. M. M. Gore, MNIT, Allahabad on “Issues and Challenges for Smart Electrical Grids with an Emphasis on Information Security”. In his talk, he emphasized on smart electrical grids. Important data network related issues concerning smart electrical grids were also taken up by him.

After the Oral Presentation (Session-1,) Dr. R. Pillai from DRDO, New Delhi spoke as an invited speaker on the topic “Bootstrapping Trust in Commodity Systems”. In his presentation he talked about the importance of mechanism on which the system can be trusted.

In the series of invited speaker presentations Mr. Amit Sharma Additional Director, DRDO, New Delhi presented his views to the audience on the topic “Cyber Warfare & Advanced Threats To National Security”. In his presentation the emphasis was given to the threats to the National Security.

The Second day of the National Seminar started with the invited talk of Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh NIT, Kurukshetra on “Recent Advancement in Search Engines and Future Challenges”. In his talk, he emphasized on different types of search Engines and their effectiveness of data searching. He also talked about the various challenges associated with the search engines while searching the data. After the oral presentations (session 3) invited Speaker Dr. Aditya Trivedi, ABV-IIITM Gwalior, delivered his invited talk on “With to Device Communication“. He started his talk with basics of D2D communication and  emphasis on the benefits like High Data rates, Reliable communications, Instant communications, Use of licensed spectrum, Interference reduction, Power saving. He also put up his views on the challenges and opportunities available in D2D communications. In the series of talks  Mr. Hemant Sharma Co-founder & Director Vnurt Technology, Bangalore shared his experience on the topic “Internet of Things (IOT): Transforming the automation and talked about the importance of IOT and related issues. His talk also emphasized on the applications of IoT on larger scales.

The Chief Guest for the concluding session was Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh NIT, Kurukshetra and the day ended with his concluding remarks. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Anshul Gangele.
