The month long sports events under SANGATHAN 2016 at Amity University Madhya Pradesh came to an end at a gala ceremony held in the university premises on 7Oct 2016.
The ceremony started with the arrival of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma AVSM (Retd.), Pro vice Chancellor Prof MP Kaushik and other dignitaries. The Sports Officer Mr Ravi Pal then presented the Sangathan 2016 Report, briefing the audience on the events, medals & points tally and other details. The audience was informed that 14 events including Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Athletics, Football etc. were held during Sangathan 2016. This year a prize for Best Physique was also instituted. Also 03 events for faculty and staff were also conducted viz Cricket, Chess and Table Tennis.
The prize distribution ceremony was preceded by 100 metre race for boys followed by a small cultural dance by the students.
After the Prize Distribution, the Hon’ble VC addressed the students. In his address he said that sports are as necessary as studies for the overall growth and development. He also congratulated all the participants and coordinators for their hard work, zeal and enthusiasm to make the event successful.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the assistant Sports Officer Ms Bhumika Singh Kushwah, followed by tea for the participating students and dignitaries.
