Sadiya Umrani of B.B.A. LL.B (H) from Amity Law School presented a research paper titled “Protection of Gene Advancement: An Analytical Study” in a national seminar organized by Amity Institute of Biotechnology. Conducted in July 2016, the research paper shed light on ‘Gene Patents’ as one of the emerging areas in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and needs to modify patent laws according to contemporary practices in developing economies like India. Sadiya Umrani received the ‘Best Paper of the Session’.
