WHY STUDY NEUROSCIENCE?

There is a huge occurrence of Neuropsychiatric and Neurological disorders worldwide. Besides the old age diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease etc. numerous people suffer from depression, dementia, mood disorders, sleep disorders and variety of mental and psychiatric problems. However, the individuals in the developing countries lack awareness about the diagnosis, causes and treatment of these threatening disorders. The study of neuroscience courses will enlighten the masses towards a better understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders and their treatment. Research in neuropsychology and neuroscience is aimed at better understanding of the structure, function and disorders of the nervous system and their treatment. As an institute we aim to create a research environment within which young inquisitive minds can learn, implement and foster their scientific skills under suitable guidance. Our programs cater for those who are planning careers in the academia, research, industry, management and public sectors. The students pursuing undergraduate degree in neuroscience can further pursue Masters in Neuroscience or Masters in allied areas and later can build a research career by enrolling in Ph.D. program. Postgraduates and Graduates of this program can also pursue professional training in Neuropsychology, Cognitive science and Clinics for patient counseling and diagnosis. Various national and international universities also offer several teaching and research opportunities in neuroscience areas.
