Winter carnival

The winter carnival promoted by chairperson Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan and Founder President Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Amity to lay emphasis on upholding the Indian values and strengthening the familial bonds, was attended by over 11,000 people. The highlights were the brightly decorated stalls selling food, handicrafts, apparels, joy rides, fun games, a live DJ and a lucky draw.

Middle School Annual Day

The middle school annual day celebrations of the schools unravelled with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the soulful rendition of shlokas, the mellifluous welcome song Shubh Swagatam and spectacular orchestra performance Swar Taal Parikrama, a harmonious synchronisation of a variety of instruments played by over 200 students enthralled the audience. The visual feast was the scintillating dance drama ‘Manav se manavta tak’ which displayed the origin of mankind, the fight for survival, the joy of living harmoniously with all, despite the varied cultures with Manavta- Humanity as the binding factor. The chief guest for the day Principal Commissioner of Income Tax , Dr Sadhana Shanker applauded the performance of the students. School principal Mrs Renu Singh presented the school’s annual report. Chairperson Dr Mrs Amita Chauhan congratulated the students for their brilliant performance, laid emphasis on strengthening the values and patriotism in the youth.

Ramanujan: Inter School Mathematics Competitions
Date : December 21- 22, 2015
The school organised its 15th Ramanujan Inter School Math Competition under the aegis of Amity Centre for Excellence in Mathematics. The competition conceived by Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, aimed at promoting exceptional standards in math. The national level competition saw participation of 22 schools comprising around 610 students. The competition comprised diverse mathematical activities ranging from Problem–Solving and Math Fun activity to Math Quiz and Project Presentation for students of classes 4 to 12. Students participated in the events both at the Individual as well as Team level. The ‘Amity Fun Activity, based on exploring maths in our immediate environment and culture was one of the unique features of the competition. The competition was judged by Dr. Nimish Kapoor, Principal Scientific Officer, Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology (GOI), Mr. Amit Bajaj, a State teacher awardee and a passionate Mathematics teacher were chosen as judges.
Mathamity 2015: Celebrating the Spirit of Maths

The school organised its annual mathematic exhibition Mathamity 2015 for the students of Nursery to Class 5. Conducted under the aegis of the Amity’s Children Science Foundation, the exhibition encouraged students to explore numerical concepts through research and survey as desired by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools. Students displayed creativity for learning mathematical concepts on topics ranging from Shape-O-Mania, Numerical Parks to Math in architecture and consumer fields.

Workshop on Cyber Security Awareness

A cyber security awareness workshop was organized and conducted for the senior students by Cyborg Cyber Forensics and Information security Pvt. Ltd (Amity Group). The objective of the workshop as envisaged by Dr ( Mrs) Amita Chauhan chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF was to alert the students on how to keep themselves safe from Cyber criminals, while sharing information on social media. The students were also given technical solutions to prevent themselves from being hacked and scammed.
'Musical Play' Performance by Korean Theatre Group

In keeping with the vision of the respected Chairperson of the Amity Group of Schools, Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, who feels that art and culture should be at the heart of any progressive society, the Amity Educational Resource Centre (AERC), Director, Ms Jyoti Arora tied up with the Korean Cultural centre and organised a wonderful musical play, at Amity International School Noida’s on the 1st of December, 2015. The Musical play was based on a Korean folk tale, “Princess Pyeonggang and Ondal the Fool “. The play which was performed by Bookteller’s Quilt, a theatre group based in Korea, was a very creative tale presented in the form of a theatrical performance that combined songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. The interactive and vibrant acting of the korean artists elicited huge rounds of applause from the extremely enthusiastic junior school audience. The Principal of A.I.S,Noida, Mrs Renu Singh, felt that it was only such joyous cultural performances which can make the little ones happy. The event ended with the Vice Principal of A.I.S,Noida, Ms Jyoti Arora offering her profuse appreciation about the energy and commitment that was so evident in the performance of the extremely talented korean artists.

The Felicitation Ceremony for the CBSE batch of class XII ( 2014-2015) was held on 10 July 2015 at Noida in the School Seminar Hall. The much awaited Felicitation Ceremony held a special air of exuberance this year since the students had not only done spectacularly well but had emerged as toppers in the country! The program began by invoking the blessings of the almighty. Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan graced the occasion and applauded the efforts of these achievers and blessed them. She emphasized the importance of hard work in one’s life and inspired them to create mile stones. The All India Topper (Humanities) was Mythili Mishra and the District Science Topper was Raina Banerjee. The school average for Class XII was 86.06 and for Class X an incredible 9.76 CGPA! The Principal, Mrs. Renu Singh, said that for this brilliant result, the school is indebted to the unique philosophy of the honorable Founder President Dr Ashok K Chauhanji and to, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, who is a woman of substance, a futuristic educationist, an enterprising entrepreneur, a noble philanthropist and above all, a doting mother to over 40,000 children studying across all branches of Amity International Schools. The Principal also congratulated her students for their outstanding performance and praised her teachers for their tireless effort and parents for their unstinting support.
Report on Parent Orientation Program - Class IX

An orientation programme for the parents of Class IX students was held in the school auditorium. School principal Renu Singh, highlighted the achievements of the students, and reiterated the importance of working together with parents to ensure discipline amongst students. This was followed by a presentation on the CCE system by vice principal, Jyoti Arora. She introduced the secondary school staff and apprised the parents about all the latest CCE directives given by CBSE. Taruna Barthwal, Manager, Amity Career Counselling and Guidance Cell, spoke about vocational guidance and stream choice. Subsequently, Classes IX and X conducted a talk on co-scholastic activities. The program ended with Parents Teacher Meeting.
Beginning of a new session

The new session at Amity International School, Noida began with a grand havan ceremony which was organised for the students of Classes I-XII. The ceremony was observed in the presence of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF and school principal Renu Singh.

Acharyaji explained Sanskrit chants to the students in simple language and also narrated stories from the Vedas and Upanishads containing the wisdom of the yesteryears. Renu Singh asked the students to strive for excellence in academics as well as moral values. The ceremony ended with students receiving blessings from their teachers followed by sweets distribution.
Head Examiners Meet Physics – 2015

The Head Examiners Physics Meet, 2015 was held at Amity International School, Noida. CBSE appointed 47 Head Examiners in Physics from Dehradun region. Mr Dinesh Bartwal, vice principal, Doon International School, Dehradun was appointed as the subject expert to discuss the marking scheme for evaluating the Class XII Physics paper conducted by CBSE. Mr Shekhar Chandra, assistant secretary, CBSE and Mrs Renu Singh, principal, Amity School, Noida supervised the function. Mr Bartwal discussed the marking scheme in detail for all 26 questions of the paper and also emphasised on step marking, so that students can secure some marks even if they have not solved a question completely. Thus, the marking scheme developed was very comprehensive and student friendly.

To bid farewell to winter and welcome the spring season, primary wing students of AIS Noida participated in a Carnival organised in the school premises. School principal Renu Singh and vice principal Soma Mukherjee graced the day. Fun filled games, scrumptious food, joy rides and useful consumer items kept the crowd engaged. The day culminated with an exciting lucky draw that saw 18 children walk away with prizes ranging from LED TV to small house-hold items.
Annual Sports Meet

The sports meet inaugurated by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF witnessed multifarious events. School principal, Renu Singh welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report, highlighting the achievements of students during the academic year. This was followed by march-past and a brilliant performance by Scottish band. The students presented yoga, free hand exercises, aerobics, umbrella drill, pyramid formation (gymnastics) and also participated in athletic events like 200m race. The event culminated with an awards ceremony where the winners were awarded trophies and medals.
Grandparents Day

To strengthen the beautiful bond between the two generations and raise Amitians as sensitive, balanced individuals with right values, grandparents’ day was celebrated at AIS Noida. As a token of love, ’World’s Best Grandparents’ certificate, a medal and a star-shaped photo frame was given by the children to the grandparents.
