An in-house sports day was held for the students of Class IV in which they participated in various sports activities like dribbling, athletics, balancing race, etc. The objective of the event was to provide a gamut of fitness opportunities to children. Winners were given gold, silver and bronze medals.

Amity fitness fiesta was observed by the students of Class V during which they participated in various relay races and telematches. Winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals and all the students were given a certificate of participation.

Surpassing its past legacy, team “Filter Coffee Investments” from Amity International School, Noida from India secured the 1st position with cash prize of $ 5,000 at the Global Finale of the very prestigious KWHS Investment Competition, 2019 held at the renowned Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A., on 4th May, 2019. Amity International School, Noida, was also the 1st position holder in the Region -2 (South Asia and Middle East Region) of this Competition. Another team from Amity International School, Vasundhara-6, New Delhi also made it to the Global Finale, which is no mean feat. Two Amity teams at the Finale speak volumes about the learning imparted at Amity Institutions.

This prestigious international contest, organized by the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A., stretches for around seven months and puts high school students in the shoes of global investment experts. This year , this competition was organized in three regions, Region – 1 (includes, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan), Region -2 (includes, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.) and Region – 3 (includes, Countries and regions from the Americas, Europe, Africa and Oceania).

More than 2,500 teams participated in each of the regions. The team “Filter Coffee Investments” was declared 1st among the 9 Global finalist teams from all the three regions of this prestigious competition. The team had put in dedicated zeal and efforts with only one objective – to make INDIA proud. It was their immense love and sense of respect for the country which kept them motivated and positively competitive till the end. Vibrant smiles on the victorious faces displayed the true Amity spirit of taking INDIA to splendid heights of success in the world.

A milieu of adventure sports activities for students of Class II-IV were held under the aegis of Rocksport. Children participated in different activities like, commando net, sport climbing, Burma bridge, hamster wheel, tug of war, zorbing, etc.

Annual day of Class I & II titled ‘Amity Ka Safar’ was held in school. The event was graced by Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF and Ms. Rajni Sekhri Sibal,(I.A.S),Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, was the chief guest. GT Photography workshop

Fifty budding photographers including the GT Photo editors of respective schools from all branches of Amity International Schools took part in a photography workshop organized under the aegis of The Global Times, Amity’s student newspaper. An initiative of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, it aimed at nurturing and instilling budding photographers with the finer nuances of photography skills. The workshop conducted by an eminent photographer Aarti Uppal Singhla focused on the topic - Composition of a good photograph and concluded with a question and answer session. The occasion also marked the felicitation of the winners of GT Picture-it Photo Contest 7.

The 7th edition of GT Picture-It Photo Contest organized every year around Independence day based on the theme ‘A day in the life of an Indian’ received an enthusiastic response. The competition organized under the aegis of The Global Times, open to Amity Group of Schools and Amity University students received over 200 entries. It was judged by an eminent photographer Aarti Uppal Singhla. Dhruv Arora (X L) of the school was awarded the first prize. He was felicitated with a framed copy of the winning photograph signed by Chairperson and Jury member along with a certificate. The best entries were also published in The Global Times issue dated August 20, 2018.

Students of Class XI went for a school trip to National Science Centre. There they explored various sections like mirror maze, shadow stopper, frequency table to understand concepts hands-on like. Heritage Assembly River Narmada

Students of Class I presented a vibrant special assembly based on river Narmada as a part of the Heritage syllabus. They presented skit, song and dance to depict the important facts like: mythological history, dams, temples, festivals, flora and fauna of Narmada and also how it sustains the lives of people in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

August 6-14. 2018
Middle wing of the school celebrated Independence week during which students indulged into myriad activities. They made National symbols using paper quilling technique, held a tricolor feast, wrote slogans on India of their dreams, participated in creative writing based on topic ‘Motivation from the past to build a better future.’ Students also competed in quiz based on freedom fighters. Class VII and VIII students presented a street play during special assembly and Class VI students were shown movie ‘Parmanu’. Class VIII students also attended a TedTalk session – India’s Hidden Hotbeds of Invention By Anil Gupta.

Carnival 2018

The annual carnival of the school was held amidst lots of fun and jubilations. Brightly decorated stalls of food, handicrafts, apparels, and goods were put up with music playing in the background. Different varieties of fun games like Tambola and joy rides for kids were also there. Raffle draw was a crowd puller while Amity Idol and Heritage ramps were new unique additions to carnival this year.

Hepatitis day

December 4, 2018
Institute of liver and Biliary sciences, New Delhi, celebrated 21st Hepatitis day based on theme ‘Detecting Hepatitis-The Missing Segments’. The event was graced by eminent dignitaries like Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Universe and Ms. M C Mary Kom, World Boxing Champion among others. ILBS had organised three interschool competitions namely poster making, slogan writing and mono acting. Students from different Amity schools emerged winners in all of them. Overall, more than 300 students from various eminent schools across Delhi / NCR participated in these competitions.

Christmas assembly

Students of Class V held a special assembly to observe Christmas and spread the spirit of love and humanity. They enacted the story of ‘The gift Of Magi’ by O Henry and the `Nativity scene` of the birth of Lord Jesus in the stable. Students also danced to the tunes of Christmas Polka song sang two carols ‘Silent night, Holy night` and `Santa Clause is coming to town` and conducted a quiz on Christmas.

A special assembly on Krishna River was conducted by the students of Class II-G. The children highlighted the facts related to the river Krishna followed by a prayer dance on ‘Namo Namahe Krishnaveni’ expressing their gratitude towards rivers. Students of Class IX attended the Tech Talk held at AUUP by tech genius Tanmay Bakshi, a 15 year old tech wizard, who started coding at the age of four and is a known name in neural networking and machine learning. Students had an insightful interactive session with the youngest cognitive and cloud computing developer, who has built applications engineered to augment human capabilities via deep learning.

ATC Camp Manesar - Class IX

December 2-7, 2018
236 students of class IX participated in the Amity Training Camp (ATC) held at Manesar. It was a comprehensive personality development experience for students. During their six days stay at the camp they did activities like: Parasailing, Zorbing, rock climbing, rappelling, day trekking, night trekking and shooting. Students watched patriotic documentaries and also undertook different workshops under the guidance of senior and ex-army officers. The camp came to close with a parade which was graced by Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. JBS Yadava (Retd), Vir Chakra as a chief guest. Powerful speeches on leadership, ethics and human values were delivered to motivate students.

Entire school celebrated Founder’s day with much rejoice. The event was graced by Dr. TPS Chauhan, Advisor, RBEF and Mrs Mohina Daar, Director, Academic Projects. Program began with the lighting of lamp by the dignitaries followed by a melodious Shloka Gayan by the students of the Middle wing. Primary wing students presented a dance based on the folk culture of Indonesia. Students also presented a dance performance sending out the message of importance of hard work and following dreams. On this occasion, academic, extracurricular and sports achievers from Classes V-XII of 2017-18 were felicitated with scholarships, certificates and badges. The event culminated with a rendition of the school song followed by the national anthem.

Students of Class II held a special assembly to celebrate Diwali and spread more awareness about the festival. Children presented a skit and sang festive songs. Students from the school attended the second Science Film Festival organised by Goethe Institute, held at Amity University organized under the aegis of AERC. The event aimed at infusing scientific temperament in students through engaging platform of cinema. The highlight of the programme was launch of Science film ‘Living the Change’ based on the theme ‘food revolution’ and the issues of climate change. This was followed by a panel discussion where students came up with ideas to overcome the problem of global food shortage. CBSE North Zone Tennis Championship

October 8-10, 2018
Shaurya Pratap Sinha (XII); Deepanshu Varshney & Anish (XI) and Arijit Kumar (X) won silver medal in under -19 boys category at CBSE North Zone Tennis Championship. A total of 124 school teams had participated in the tournament and these students bagged the victory playing against all.

Students of Class III participated in the Swachata Abhiyan Shram Daan activities like : personal hygiene, keeping surroundings clean, using waste materials like pencil shavings to create table mats. They also learnt the importance of recycling paper as they collected waste paper in a separate box.

Students participated in multifarious activities held during the Independence Day celebrations week. International Space Settlement Design Competition-2018

July 27-30, 2018
A team of twelve students from Class XI-XII of the school represented India and won runners up trophy, at Grand Finale of International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC)-2018 held at Kennedy Space Center, USA. It is an annual international competiton held for High School students and involves clearing two rounds viz: Nationals and Asian Regional before reaching the Grand Finale.

An Interhouse competition called ‘Twist a Tale’ was organised for the students of Class VI-VIII. In this the students had to give their own ending to any of the famous fairytales and enact those as well. The function commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by school principal Mrs Renu Singh and headmistress Ms Manisha Pathak along with some grandparents. Team ‘The Alchemy of Investments’ from AIS Noida won second position for the third consecutive year, at the prestigious Knowledge@Wharton High Schools (KWHS) Investment Competition 2018 global finale held at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. The team had qualified for the global round along with another team of their school ‘Pied Piper Investment’ after bagging second position at the regional round 2 which saw more than 40 countries take part. Parent Orientation (Class X)

Students welcomed the parents with a short cultural performace. Secondary school headmistress Ms Nivedita Verma introduced the parents to the reintroduction of the Board Examination and updated them on all the other important directives given by the CBSE, on the academic domain. Senior school counsellor Ms Pooja Chaddha apprised them of aptitude testing and stream choices. The parents were also apprised about the advanced study programs being offered at Amity, such as Syncro Study, AFYIP, Amity Global School and Amity Test Prep by a professional academic team. Vice Principal Ms Shelly Kapur introduced the co-curricular activities and international exchange programs offered by the school.

Prerna Diwas held at the school, to celebrate the birthday of Chairperson, Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, also marked the beginning of the 25th year of Amity International School, Noida. Students presented a spectacular cultural programme that included self-composed birthday song and a street play on the significance of BHAAG. The highlight was a medley of popular Bollywood birthday songs by 5 year old, Jayas Kumar, former contestant for a Zee TV singing reality. Chairperson addressed the students and even interacted with them one to one, answering all their queries. Students and staff presented her with well-crafted cards and bouquets. An exhibition on Earth Week was also showcased on the occasion.

Earth Day Assembly

Students of Class II presented an assembly on ‘Earth Day’ to educate fellow students on the importance of sustainable development and taking care of our planet. Emphasis was laid on the global theme for this year’s Earth Day – ‘End of plastic pollution’. Headmistress Ms Manisha Pathak graced the occasion and applauded the children for putting up a great show.

Korea-India Friendship Quiz

Date:April 18, 2018
A team of nine students from the school took part in the Korea-India Friendship Quiz competition which had 10 schools from NCR take part. Nikhil Joshi from Class X qualified for representing the school in the second round. Students were also given a tour of the Korean Cultural Centre, visit the Library and given a demo class in Taekowondo.

Fire Safety Workshop

Date:April 14-20, 2018
A workshop on fire safety as a part of ‘Fire Service Week’ was observed in the school. The workshop commenced with a two minute silence in memory of all the brave firefighters who lost their lives trying to protect us. The distinguished speakers from ONGC, Mr. V. K. Awasthi, Manager and Mr. Avijeet Chakraborty, Chief Manager inculcated tenets of fire safety to students through an audio-visual presentation. This was followed by a quiz related to fire safety where children enthusiastically participated and won prizes. Fire safety brochures were also distributed amongst the students.

Parent Orientation (Nursery)

School principal Ms. Renu Singh and Primary School headmistress, Ms. Manisha Pathak extended a warm welcome to the parents to the Amity family. The parents were apprised about the teaching methodology followed in Nursery along with an introduction of the Nursery staff. The occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, who shared the vision and mission of the school that aims to build students where tradition blends with modernity. Guest speakers Ms. Pooja Shivam Jaitly and Ms. Shikha Nautiyal offered pragmatic solutions to parenting in the challenging times of smart technology.

New Session Havan Ceremony

The middle and senior secondary school commenced their new academic session by seeking the blessings of the Almighty.
