MUN - Model United Nations (Also Model UN Or MUN)

Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations, which aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.

It provides a platform to interact and comprehend / appreciate different cultures and viewpoints. It enables students to learn to resolve the crisis / issues. It is the platform for the young ambassadors to display their act of diplomacy

During a conference, participants must employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their country. These skills include public speaking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiating, conflict resolution, note taking, and technical writing.


ZAMUN 2018

Date: April 19 -24, 2018

Vaishant Thakur and Ishaan along with five other students from different branches of Amity International Schools took part in Žilina Model United Nations (ZAMUN) - 2018 held at Bilingual Secondary-Grammar School, Slovakia. The programme organised under the aegis of Amity Educational Resource Centre, witnessed participation from 19 schools across Europe. Amity students participated in committees like UNESCO, Human Rights and General Assembly. They received accolades and honourable mention at UNESCO, Human Rights Committee and General Assembly for their diligent research and good debating capabilities.

AIMUN (Amity International Model United Nation)

Four years ago AIMUN was conceptualized to provide students International exposure. The AIMUN conference aims at strengthening communication skills of students and also grooms them as global leaders. AIMUN truly imbibes the meaning of its insignia “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” -“the world is one family”.

AIMUN provides a platform that not only instills global values but also promote s responsible living.

AIMUN 2018

Over 500 students from India and overseas participated in the 11th edition of Amity International Model United Nations 2018, held at Amity University, Noida from November 15-17, 2018. The programme saw an international delegation from 12 countries and 6 states pan India take part in eight committees namely WTO, Gen Assembly, CCPCJ, AIPPM, BJP-RSS, HSC, UNSC and EU to deliberate upon a wide range of issues. Arushi Gupta, Jahnvi Vig and Mairaa Jhanjee served as USG Global Press, USG Crisis Affairs, and USG Logistics respectively while Khushi Saxena was the Editor-in-chief. Pia Tripathi (Rapporteur, EU) and Vansh Chopra (rapporteur, HSC) were part of the Executive Board. The school bagged the overall Best Delegation Award. Vidhi Batra, Shivam Prateek and Suraj Raina won Best Delegate award. Ananya Rai and Saksham Bajaj won High Commendation award. Anandi Ganguly, Siddarth Johar, Kunal and Anusha won Special Mention award in their respective committees. The three-day conference also included special workshops for international delegates with students of Amitasha and Atulasha. Students also got an opportunity to attend workshop on Forensic Sciences and Biotechnology at Amity University.

AIMUN 2014

Over 50 students of Amity International School Noida participated in Amity International Model United Nations (AIMUN) 2014 held at Amity University from November 13 to 15, 2014. The school had the proud privilege of hosting the opening ceremony of the conference as well as welcoming the guests from foreign nations that attended by over 500 students from across the world. Shikha Bhaskar of the school became the first female Secretary General of AIMUN. Shubham Jain, under-secretary general for Crisis Affairs, Aastha Singh, under-secretary general for Global Press and Abhay Mamgain, under- secretary general for Logistics took forward the baton of Amity Noida by forming the majority of the secretariat.

Tanupriya Singh, student of Class 12, won the Chairperson's Award for giving the conference motto of “One World One Humanity”. Shivam Kansal, delegate of Congo was adjudged best delegate in ECOSOC. Jigyasa Khattar received the award for the best Position Paper. Yash Sinha, student of Class 10 was awarded the Special Mention. Xyan Bhatnagar and Ritwik Kumar received verbal mentions in their committees.

AIMUN 2013

AIMUN 2013 was a three day event full of excitement of magic, fun, debates, friendships and the first step to making a change in the world. Amity Noida, as always, maintained its winning streak and proved beyond doubt that the sky is the limit for them. The best delegation award was bagged by Noida team representing Canada. Isha Batra of AIS NOIDA has served the term as Deputy Secretary General.

All in all AIMUN '13 was three days of extravaganza and the first step to making a change in the world.

11 students from the school took part in AIMUN Singapore held from July 24-28, 2018 at Singapore. The conference hosted by Amity Global Institute, Singapore saw participation of 67 students and faculty in charges from 10 different schools of India and 2 schools from Philippines. Lakshaya Khurana was designated the post of Chairperson for the committee UNSC. Akshat Mittal and Anandi Ganguly won an award for High Commendation. Darsh Tripathi won a Special Mention The conference was meticulously integrated with Career Discovery programme wherein the delegates were also taken on an educational tour to Yale-NUS, NTU and INSEAD. The students were also taken for sightseeing to acquaint them with the culture of the city.

AIMUN Dubai 2017

AIMUN Dubai 2017

Nine students from school namely Sunidhi Kapoor, Mehika Arora, Parimita Jha, Sneha Batra, Teista Dar, Daksh Malhotra, Prisha Mishra, Lakshaya Khurana and Shubhika Garg participated in AIMUN Dubai conference held from July 24-25, 2017 that saw over 60 children from India, South Africa and Japan take part. Delegates participated in two committees namely UNSC and UNODC where they deliberated upon agenda’s as ‘nuclear non-proliferation with special emphasis on North Korea’ and ‘combating the criminal misuse of information technology’, respectively. Lakshaya Khurana served as the Vice President of the committee UNSC. Prisha Mishra and Shubhika Garg got the Special Mention award. The participants also got an opportunity to visit Amity International School, Abu Dhabi, experience exclusive workshops and tour the city’s famous destinations.

8th ANMUN -2018

August 7-8, 2018
The 8th edition of the Amity Noida Model United Nations was held for the students of Class VIII-XII. The four committees formed were: General Assembly, Economic and Social Committee, All India Political Parties Meet and Central Intelligence Association. Various agendas discussed were: ‘Impact of non-state actors in areas of conflict', ‘Aftermath of BREXIT’ and ‘Unemployment in India’. Exceptional performers were conferred with the titles like ‘Best Delegate’, ‘High Commendation’ and ‘Special Mention’.

The school organised its 7th Model United Nations conference (MUN) on August 24-25, 2017. The students were divided into four committees, namely, General Assembly, Organization of the Islamic Conference, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and All India Political Parties Meet. The participants prepared their subjects with thorough research and presented their speeches unhesitatingly. The event closing ceremony entailed distribution of awards, certificates and titles given to students. The Delegate of USA, Shivam Pareek was awarded the ‘Best Delegate’.

International MUN

Zilina Model United Nations (ZAMUN)

  • Date: March 30- April 1, 2017
    Siddid Kaul from the school along with five other students from the Amity Group participated in ZAMUN held at Slovakia, organised under the aegis of AERC. ZAMUN witnessed 136 delegates from across the world, who reviewed, assessed and debated upon major issues of global concern. The trip concluded with Amitians visiting the prestigious UNO office located at Vienna to get a real feel on the functioning of UN Committees.

  • ZAMUN, April 20 -26, 2016
    Seven students from Amity Group of Schools including Lamhe Runthala (X) & Amisha Srivastava (IX) from AIS Noida participated in ZAMUN 2016 held at Zilina, Slovakia from April 20 -26, 2016. The students accompanied by Divya Bhatia, Principal AIS Saket, got an opportunity to visit the UN Centre and learn about the history of the UN and its recent initiatives. They also had the privilege to meet Indian Ambassador H E Paramjit Mann at the Opening Ceremony of ZAMUN and toured the town of Zilina.

    A team of Amitians from all branches went to Harvard University to attend the HMUN at Boston, USA. They were accompanied by Mrs. Renu Singh, Principal, AISN. Aman Jha of AISN won the best delegate award in this Conference.

    A team of students from several Amity branches along with students from AISN went to New York, USA to attend and participate in the UNA USA MUN programme at the UN HQ, New York. They were accompanied by the MUN Coordinator for Amity schools, Mr. Sumedh Kapoor.
    A team of delegates from AISN went to attend the Harvard MUN at Hyderabad in September 2012. The Team returned with great felicitations and awards. The team was accompanied by AISN faculty advisor Mrs. Debanjali Ganguly.
    Amitian Mun’ers shone at the Goldberg Gymnasium, Sttuttgart, Germany to attend the MUN Conference, MUNOG. Students excelled in the programme and were felicitated for being the best team.
