About AISS

Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS) was established in July 2010. Social Sciences explores various aspects of human society. It is commonly used as an umbrella term to refer to a dynamic field outside of the natural sciences. These include: Sociology, Economics, Geography, History, Law, Linguistics, Political Science, Social Work and, in some contexts, Psychology.

These courses provide a unique blend for students to understand society holistically and prepare them to become better individuals and professionals in due course.

We aim at providing novel and unique experiences to students through activities like – Field visits, Rural camps, Media sessions, Expert talks etc. to name a few.

Amity Institute of Social Sciences is a vibrant academic community in terms of teaching, extension activities and research. There are faculties from all backgrounds of social sciences which cater to the various academic needs of the students. There are regular interactions with the Industry and NGOs and Government agencies in order to help students gain an understanding of the field realities.

Our courses are structured in a manner that are practical oriented and provide a window into the future in keeping with the globalized contemporary social needs

Welcome to the Amity Institute of Social Sciences (AISS) at Amity University, Noida.

The Institute was established in the year 2010. Social Science refers to the academic disciplines concerned with the society and the relationships of individuals within a society, which primarily rely on empirical approaches. The vibrant field of social sciences helps students learn varied aspects of societal realities from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Learning environment at AISS ignite their minds with a craving to address concerns, analyze contemporary issues at local, national and global level with firm grounding in community based and participatory approach. Courses offered inculcates amongst students sound value system, sensitivity, humane approach, pride in one’s cultural heritage with firm belief in upholding equality, dignity and human rights. Students have an opportunity to learn through amalgamation of theory and practice equipping them to understand social realities from a scholarly perspective as well as hands-on approach with good reasoning, creative thinking skills, active learning and ability to connect well with people.

The study programs offered by AISS include both applied and pure social science. Currently the programs offered are in the field of Political Science, Development Studies, Social Work, Sociology, History and Philosophy.

For all our programs, the theoretical courses are complemented by practice, applied components and internships, rural and military camp training. The Institute organizes guest lectures, seminars, field visits, interactions with NGOs, government organizations, industry and cultural activities that broadens the horizon of students and helps in building their holistic personality.
