AMITY LAW SCHOOL - NOIDA

AMITY INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF JURIDICAL SCIENCES (AIJJS) is published annually by Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida bearing ISSN 2395-4019. It is a faculty run Annual Refereed Journal whose primary goal is to serve an important legal scholarship academic forum on any issue. The AIIJS, through the provision of socially relevant legal knowledge, will promote reflective thinking. This review is a serious attempt to provide an effective research tool by sparking scholastic conversation among a variety of academics, judges, lawyers, practitioners, students, activists, scholars, and prominent thinkers.

The Journal has some truly magnificent contributions from distinguished legal scholars from all over the world and is also immensely proud of its fairly large advisory board, which includes internationally respected professors from various highly regarded universities and institutions around the world.

The review will publish articles from scholars. All submissions will be subjected to a rigorous scientific editorial process designed to fine tone and substance strengthening. It seeks to contribute towards the endeavour of strengthening and facilitating legal ease for law in India. The Journal examines the development and evolution of laws with regard to judicial interpretation, authorities and other valuable resources. The AIJJS' Editorial Board seeks to place particular emphasis (invites articles) on evolving laws in India through the various contemporary developments of law, legal practices and other interdisciplinary topics.

Author Guidelines & Ethics

AIJJS expects authors to abide by academic integrity and intellectual honesty. Papers submitted for publication in AIJJS should be original. Papers which are already published in other journals, anthologies etc., should not be submitted for publication in AIJJS
The Amity Law School, Noida shall be the sole copyright owner of all the published materials. Apart from fair dealing for the purposes of research, private study or critique, no part of the journal shall be copied, adapted, abridged, translated or stored in any retrieval system, computer system, photographic or other system or reproduced in any form by any means whether electronic, mechanical, digital, optical, photographic or otherwise without prior written permission from the Institute.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS

The Journal of the Amity Law School accepts submissions throughout the year. All submissions are required to be addressed to the Editor, The Journal of Amity Law School and emailed to als.aijjs@gmail.com .

  1. .Each submission must be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 500 words outlining the study area and any important conclusions that the author(s) may draw and at most 5 keywords;
  2. Covering Letter: All personal details, including name, year, college / university name, postal address, phone number and email Id, must be submitted in a separate file and must not be included in the article submission document or file;
  3. Co-authorship is allowed to a maximum of 2 authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed in case of Case Comment, Legislative Comment and Book Review;
  4. Submissions must be submitted to als.aijjs@gmail.com with the subject line "Submission of Manuscripts for Volume V". The deadline for submissions is 30 June 2019;
  5. All papers must be accompanied by a' Conclusion' stating the views and opinions of the authors on the subject. Authors can expect to receive their submission decisions within two months of submission;
  6. Kindly note that the manuscript review procedure is based on the author's anonymity and the editors ' and reviewers ' reports are kept confidential at all phases of development. Author anonymity is also maintained during the process of editorial decision-making;
  7. AIJJS publishes only original and unpublished material. Manuscripts must therefore not, at any time during the period of consideration by the Journal, be considered for publication in any other place, nor published beforehand;
  8. The Law Review has a strict plagiarism policy as well. Plagiarism shall be liable for rejection of the manuscript. All entries shall be copyrighted exclusively with Amity Law School, Noida. The submission would imply that the author has assigned such rights to Amity Law School, Noida.

Formatting:

  1. The manuscript body must be in the "Times New Roman" font with font size 12, line spacing 1.5 and the "justified" alignment with 1 inch margins on all sides of page with page numbers;
  2. All footnotes must be in "Times New Roman" with font size 10, line spacing 1. Endnotes are not allowed and speaking footnotes are generally discouraged;
  3. All submissions must follow the "Bluebook: A Uniform Citation System (19th edition)." Failure to comply could be a ground for rejection;
  4. Submissions should be made in Microsoft Office (doc./docx.) with formatting and citation style only. Any kind of plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification. The paper should not contain of any kind of errors in grammar and spelling.

Word Limit:

Articles (words between 6000 and 8000, except footnotes);
Please follow the prescribed word limit.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice statement

The prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board of AMITY INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF JURIDICAL SCIENCES (AIJJS) Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and the Editorial Board of this journal does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Authors submitting manuscripts affirm that manuscript contents are original. The duties that have been outlined for the Editor, Authors and the Reviewers are based on the COPE code of Conduct and APA publication ethics. AIJJS is dedicated to following the best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions.

Duties of the Editor

  1. Publication Decisions: Based on the review report of the Board of Editors and the Board of reviewers the editor has complete responsibility and authority to accept, reject, or request modifications to the manuscript.
  2. Review of the Manuscripts: Each editor must ensure that each manuscript is initially evaluated by the editor for originality, making use of appropriate software to do so.
  3. Fair Review: The editor must ensure that each manuscript submitted to ABR is reviewed for its intellectual content without regard to sex, gender, race, religion, citizenship, etc. of the authors.
  4. Confidentiality: The editor must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential.
  5. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: The editor of this Journal shall not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for his/her own research without written consent of the author.
  6. Ethical Guidelines: The editor shall ensure that all research material they publish conforms to the internationally accepted ethical guidelines.
  7. Proof of Misconduct: The editor should not reject papers based on suspicions. They should have the proof of misconduct.

Duties of Authors

  1. Publication guidelines: Authors must follow the submission guidelines of AIJJS.
  2. Original Work: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original work. Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published elsewhere. (See the checklist).
  3. Multiple Submissions: Authors must certify that the manuscript is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere.(see the checklist).
  4. Authorship of the Paper: All authors mentioned in the paper must have significantly contributed to the research.
  5. Data Access and Retention: Authors should provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and must retain such data.
  6. Authenticity of Data: Authors must identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscript. Authors must state that all data in the paper are real and authentic.

Duties of Reviewers

  1. Confidentiality: Reviewers should keep all information regarding papers confidential and treat them as privileged information.
  2. Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers must ensure that authors have acknowledged all the sources of the data used in the research.
  3. Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with no personal criticism of the author.
  4. Supporting Argument: Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  5. Plagiarism, Fraud and Other Ethical Concerns: Reviewers should let the editor know if you suspect/find that a manuscript is a substantial copy of another work, citing the previous work in as much detail as possible.
  6. Relevant Work: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  7. Promptness: In the event that a reviewer feels it is not possible for him/her to complete review of manuscript within stipulated time then this information must be communicated to the editor, so that the manuscript could be sent to another reviewer

Over the years, the vision of the journal is to present a scholastic platform to the scholars the world over, to publish their original, creative, empirical and high quality research work on evolving laws in India through the various contemporary developments of law, legal practices and other interdisciplinary topics.
