Event Summary
On January 25th, for the occasion of the 74th Republic day, the students of Hospitality Club,
Amity School of Hospitality conducted an event named the Treasures of India, under the guidance of Dr Agnel Ritish Kumar Tirkey. This small-scale event was organized for the Amity School of Hospitality faculty members. The event was dived into two main parts a treasure hunt and a lunch buffet.
The treasure hunt was themed Treasures of India keeping in mind the inherent importance of Republic Day. In the treasure hunt, there were multiple levels in the game, where the clues were designed keeping in mind the important events and people of the Indian Independence movement and were hidden across the training bar. We wanted all faculty members to find the lost child in them so we incorporated some old games like staapu and maze which will take them back in time. The faculty members were divided into three teams and were asked to find the clues and solve them.
We were honored to have Prof. Pranshu Chomplay, HOI along with us for the event. We were being blessed by his words and appreciation. The event was much appreciated by all the faculties of Amity School of Hospitality. Overall, the faculty members enjoyed this experience, and the winning team was awarded a gift hamper contributed by the students of hospitality club committee.
It was a fun and informative event where everyone put on their thinking caps to solve the clues and reach the final goal. The whole training bar was decorated by the students with different elements of Indian history. This included posters, drawings, models etc.
Through this event, we wanted to pay respect to all those who helped our country get stronger and better! Special remembrance should be paid to all the freedom fighters and soldiers, who made and are making unbeatable sacrifices for all of us to breathe ‘free’.
The second part of the event was the lunch buffet. It included the lost Indian dishes. The mouth-watering delicacies from Indian cuisine are heavily laced with history and were part of the usual food habits that were followed nearly five decades ago.
But over time, many recipes have faded away. We wanted to celebrate such lost recipes and hope to give you an insight into the glorious past of the majestic kitchens of India and travel back in time for a traditional experience like
never before. The dishes were prepared by the students of BHM semester 4 under the guidance of Dr Tahir Sufi. The buffet was laid out in the training restaurant. The restaurant was also decorated with a theme of republic day
Overall, the event was successful, and the efforts of the team were appreciated by everyone. Through this event, students learned how to organize events while keeping in mind all the factors like budgeting, marketing, organizing, menu planning etc. this event gave students an opportunity to express their creativity and skill. This helped the students to enhance their leadership quality, communication skill, problem-solving and social skills.

Initiating the event
For the project of accommodation operation, We the students of Amity School of hospitality were given a project to organise an event. The students were told that the entire planning and organising will be
done by them only. Everything required for the event was to be managed by the students only. This was an entire new experience for the students as it was different from their usual projects. First of all
the most important question was that what will be the topic or theme for the event. There were many ideas, everybody shared their views and thoughts. After a brief and a long discussion the students
decided that the event will be conducted on the theme of Bollywood.
Planning for the event
Before the beginning of the event our teacher asked the students to select four managers who who will manage the event. For the selection of the managers voting system was used. And following students
were selected.
The Main Manager (Abhishek Chaudhary)
Assistant Manager (Muskan Bhalla)
Operating Manager (Om Pranjal)
Budget Manager (Madhav Tewari)
The duty of Main Manager was see each and everything that will be organised or happen during the event. It was a very difficult job as the main manager had to keep a record of each and everything. The
manager also had to motivate the students to perform for the event with full enthusiasm.
The duty of the assistant manager was to help the main manager in each and every decision. In the absence of men manager it was the duty of assistant manager to look after everything.
The duty of operating manager was to provide all the necessary resources required for the Event. It was also a very tough duty as he had to find the best product at the right price.
The duty of budget manager was to assign budget to each and every group who were helping in the organisation of the budget.
After deciding of the theme, now the next big question was how the event will be organised. There was a lot of confusion for what type of activities and things can be performed for the theme. Huge number
of ideas were given for the event by the students, but it was still very difficult to select the activities and other things. So for deciding properly, we went systematically.
First of all we have to decide which will be the best date for conducting the event, read it had to be suitable for each and every person. After long discussion the outcome was that the event will be
organised on Thursday 6th of February 2020. The students decided that the name of the Event will be AMIWOOD. The venue of the event was the Training Bar of ASH department. For the activities we decided to
organise a few games for the people who will be joining along with live music and some snacks for the guests. The biggest challenge was to create an atmosphere related to Bollywood.
Planning of budget and initiation
Now the discussion part was over, it was a time to do preparation for the event. The students were given four weeks approximately. Within that time they had to prepare the event. First of all three teams
were formed for the event. The first time was for the centrepiece and for the decoration and preparation of the main door along with some other basic decoration. The second team was formed for the
preparation of the games, photo-booth and their walls also. The third team was responsible for making the food stall and arranging for the snacks as well.
Budget was given as per the things required for the each team. The main use of the budget was in the part of the decoration. Show the 40% of the budget was given to to the decoration department which
included the centrepiece, main door, photo-booth along with walls. The 30% of the budget was given to the food stall department as per their requirements. The remaining 30% was given to the games
department. For the live music one of the students brought their speakers.
On the first week of the event the students started to prepare all the necessary things required for their departments. The work of the centrepiece began along with the main gate. The department of the
games and photo booth also start in their work. The food department on the first week helped the other two departments for their work as they did not have a lot of work to do on the first week. At the end
of the day all the basic things were prepared for the event.
On the second week the assembling of each and everything started according to the plan by each of the department. The centrepiece group prepared a star along with two poles. Decoration department was
preparing the charts with pictures of famous movies, dialogues and flim stars. The food stall department prepared the poles for the banner and started discussion for the menu which there will be serving
at the event.
The third week was the time for finalising all the preparations of work that each department were doing. The group for the centrepiece ready with their work, only the lighting party of remaining.
Decoration department was ready with the charts and games, the photo booth was only remaining. The food stall was ready along with their banner. They also decided what all things they will be serving
during the event.
The last week was the time where all the groups have to put their decorations and preparations to the venue where the event was going to be held. One day before the event there was a team meeting in which
manager assigned each and everyone their duties for the day of the event. As the part of job allocation was very important so that any kind of confusion can be avoided. The students were asked to wear
formal dresses to match the theme. The leader of every group check whether each and everything is according to the plan. At the end of the day managers went to their respective faculties along with the
invitations for the event.
The Day of the event
Everybody was ready by the time of 12:30pm as the event was about to start at 1 o'clock. At 1 o'clock some students were at the entry gate to welcome the guest and later the escorted them to the event.

of musical chairs which was first played by the teachers and then later by the students. Overall it was really good experience and everybody enjoyed their time.
Outcome of the event
First of all event was totally different experience for the students as it was a different type of project then they usually received. The student learned the importance of of teamwork as with the help of
team everything can be done effectively and efficiently. The hidden talents of some students came out, new ideas were received and many more. The managers learned how to organise the event, how to
allocate the budget and how to receive the right product at right price. The event would not be possible without the help of our teacher (Dr Ajeet Singh) as he was very helping and motivating, without him

Date: February 25th, 2020
Venue: Training Bar, Amity School Of Hospitality.
INITIATING THE EVENT
The students of the group B1 from the 2017-21 batch of Amity School Of Hospitality were given the project of hosting a theme-based event under the guidance of our faculty Dr. Ajeet Kumar Singh.
Their project was given to enhance the skills pertaining to the management and organization of events. Managers were made by mutual decisions between the students.
After multiple discussions, the theme was decided to be "Rahasya". The whole concept of Rahasya was utterly unique.
CONCEPT OF RAHASYA
Rahasya was based on a thriller/crime storyline that left the people on a cliffhanger. After going through the story, the visitors had to go through a series of 5 clues and had to solve them in a fixed order to reveal the ending of the story. The whole atmosphere of the venue was precisely set to be suspenseful with things like eerie music, red lights and props/items that referred to the clues and the story.
PLANNING OF THE EVENT
The event was planned for a few weeks. Once the theme and the concept was established, everyone from the group brainstormed to make the full outline of the event.
Rahasya was a mystery-solving theme party in which the visitors read through the whole plot and were left on a cliffhanger. After this, they observed the hints which were spread out in the form of props, artworks, written sentences and led to the different clues. They had to crack the 5 clues one after another and after cracking the final clue they were presented with the ending of the story.
The story was formulated and the decorations were decided keeping it in mind. The path followed by the visitors to solve the series of clues was set in such a way that the refreshments/snacked were offered mid-way.
Red and black were the central colors that were used to create the whole atmosphere of the venue. The wall decorations, color of the ribbons & balloons, everything was carefully decided as per the color scheme.
It was decided that the snacks would be made in-house by the student chefs from the batch.
THE EVENT DAY
The event day started for the team with their early arrival to setup the training bar in the layout decided for ‘Rahasya’. Everything ranging from the the props and design elements to the story and clues were set up.
The invitations sent to the faculties mentioned their precise 15 minute time slot in which they were expected.
Apart from this the chefs of the batch prepared the snacks and the mocktails which were served during the event:
Falafels, Beetroot Bites, Cookies, Sweets and Cranberry Mocktail
~
The event began at 1400 hours and went on till the end of the day. The first primary slots were given to the faculties of Amity School of Hospitality exclusively. After them, the teachers from the Amity School of Tourism also joined. The last few slots were utilized by the students from different batches of the course.
Upon entering, the visitors were presented with 4 slides, stuck vertically from the ceiling in a dimly lit red passage. These slides contained the the storyline which terminated at a point wherein the death of a particular person in the story is a mystery. This passage turned to its right at the end. Here the clues, hints and the refreshments were spread out along with the props, balloons, ribbons etc. to create a mysterious aura.
The team members who had direct guest interactions wore similar creepy masks to set the mood. Specially the ones who managed the clues.
After completing the whole course, the slot of guests were given a small gift each.
