Dr. Satendra Singh, IFS (Retd.) – Honorary Professor, ASNRSD Disaster Management, Forestry and Environment

An Indian Forest Service Officer holding a doctorate in Himalayan Geo-tectonics from Delhi University and earned an MBA with specialization in disaster management from University of Hull, United Kingdom. A Gold Medalist of Delhi University carried out post-doctorate research in “Sustainable Rural Development for Disaster Mitigation”. Authored/ co-authored eleven books related to disaster management, rural development, forest fire management, forestry and earth science. Also published several research papers, articles and designed policies, training modules, plans/ and awareness material, primarily on disaster management. Also contributed in research and teaching as supervisor and examiner of several Ph. D./ M. Phil./ Dissertation thesis and resource person for various Universities and Academic Institutions related to the field of disaster management and allied topics.

Over thirty six years of extensive experience in the field of disaster risk management, rural development, forestry and allied sectors, including disaster risk reduction, disaster response and recovery planning, climate change adaptation, forestry and environment, rural development, forest fire management; institutional networking; training and awareness generation in rural development and disaster management; disaster risk reduction mainstreaming and its management in the agriculture sector; disaster risk mitigation with an enhancement of sustainable development policies at national and state levels and interagency coordination.

Wide-ranging experience also encompasses of working internationally, nationally and at the provincial level as Head of National Institute of Disaster Management and SAARC Disaster Management Centre; Special Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Government of Bihar and in-charge of Forest Fire Division, Government of India helped to gain a wider understanding of various issues related to Disaster Management at multiple levels. The post-doctorate research work at National Centre of Disaster Management, IIPA, New Delhi enabled to get better understanding and insights of the underlying issues in dealing with the disasters at the local level in a rural conglomeration set-up and also guided in formulating more appropriate and innovative approach of mainstreaming disaster risk reduction into development planning.



Dr. S.P. Singh, IFS (Retd.) Director, ASNRSD Forestry and Wildlife Management

Director, ASNRSD
Dr. Singh did his Ph.D. in Zoology (Insect Physiology), M. Phil. (Zoology- Entomology), Master degrees in 4 subjects viz. Zoology, Forestry, Sociology, Geoinformation (GIS & Remote Sensing). Dr. Singh joined Indian Forest Service in 1983 and served on several important assignments in the Forest Department of Assam. He also contributed in various wildlife conservation programmes at word heritage Sites – Manas and Kaziranga Tiger Reserve. Dr. Singh also served in the Project Tiger (Now NTCA) in Government of India. He also served in Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun; Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun and Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun in different capacities. He has expertise in the field of Biodiversity Conservation, Eco-development, Forestry and Wildlife management, GIS &Remote Sensing, Climate Change & Carbon Assessment and Legal issues with forestry and wildlife sector.



Dr. M. S. Madhusoodanan, Director, AIGWES Climate change, Extreme weather events, Ocean-atmosphere interactions, Monsoon variability, Land-surface processes, ocean/climate Modeling, nowcasting.

Dr. Madhusoodanan did his Ph.D. (Oceanography), M.Tech. (Atmospheric Sciences) and M.Sc. (Oceanography). His key skills include Climate/ Ocean Modeling, Regional climate downscaling for adaptation, Remote sensing applications in integrated management of coastal zones, and Computing knowleged of Fortran, GrADS, Ferret, ERDAS, ILWIS (GIS). He has a number of awards, distinctions and Fellowships to his credit. He has been part of a number of research projects with a large number of publications.



Dr. Maya Kumari, Assistant Professor II Application of Remote Sensing & Geoinformatics in Environment and Natural Resources Management

She holds Ph.D. from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi; M. Tech degree in Remote Sensing and GIS technology from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi and Masters of Science in Environmental Science from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She has over 10 years of teaching and research experience in the field of application of Geospatial technology in sustainable management of natural resources. She has been part of several research projects related to use of geospatial technology in resource management. She also has a number of national and international publications to her credit.



Ms. Richa Sharma, Assistant Professor I Natural resources Management, Climate change

Presently pursuing Ph.D. in the field of urban green space management and climate change, she holds Master of Science in Natural Resources Management from TERI University. She has qualified National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by University Grant Commission. She also has industrial experience of working on projects related to Clean Development Mechanism and climate change. She was also involved in an UNDP-GEF project for evaluation of carbon reductions resulting from the various green initiatives implemented for the Commonwealth Games 2010. She has a number of publications in various reputed journals.



Dr. Lolita Pradhan, Assistant Professor Forestry and Natural Resources Management

She holds PhD degree in Botany from Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, M. Phil degree in Natural Resource Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management and Master’s degree in Forestry. She has 10 years of Research experience in the field of forestry and Natural Resource Management and has worked in different institutes like IIFM Bhopal, FRI Dehradun and IIPA New Delhi. She was associated in research projects of UNDP, CAMPA, IIED, NMPB, NMCG, NDMA, State Forest Departments, State Biodiversity Board etc. She has more than 10 publications in national, international journal and in edited books.



Dr. Vartika Singh, Assistant Professor II Geology, Hydrogeology, Watershed Management, Climate Change

She holds Ph.D. degree in Hydrogeology and Remote Sensing, M.Phil. degree in Hydrogeology from Vikram University and Master degree in App. Geology from Kurukshtera University. She has Qualified GATE all India rank 47. She has 5 years of research experience with Defense Terrain Research Laboratory, DRDO, Delhi. Where she is associated in various important projects of Defence Research & Development Organization, DTRL lab like GIM, Thar and PISTA. Her specialization of research is in Hydrogeology, Remote Sensing, GIS, Environmental Geology & Artificial Intelligence. She has more than 30 publications in various national, international journals and 4 chapters in edited Books with International publisher. She is in Editorial Board of several national and international journals. Her specialization is in the groundwater, hydrology, geology, watershed management, climate change and remote sensing.
