Amity School of Natural Resources and Sustainable Development has recently conducted a six-day Master Trainer Development Programme for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) assisted Forestry Development Project for 12 States of the country duly sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, New Delhi. The aims and objectives of this training programme is as under:

  • It is proposed to develop about 50 Master Trainers (MTs) in the States covered by the Project. The Role of these Master Trainers is to impart training to the faculty of the State Forest Training Institute (SFTIs) so as to enhance their training skills. Ultimately it is expected that, the process will lead to more competent front line staff who would be trained by the faculty of the SFTIs.
  • Master Trainers are expected to be Role Model trainers in many respects including their passion for training, willingness to share knowledge and skills, dedication, capacity to work tirelessly, etc. Apart from these attitudinal requirements they are also expected to have high degree of knowledge and skill in their core discipline (Forestry) as well as in the field of Training Techniques, so that they can bring about a qualitative change in the capability of the faculty of SFTIs. Consequently, Potential Master Trainers are required to be identified through a carefully designed process and developed in a systematic manner.
