Amity University Mumbai Organizes Popular Lecture Series On Future Of Universities
Amity University, Mumbai has started Popular Lecture series at the campus. Organized by Dean Student Welfare Unit, this lecture series will be highlighting the issues in the field of education. Inaugural lecture has been delivered by Dr. Rajan Welukar, Vice Chancellor, ATLAS SkillTech University, Mumbai and former Vice Chancellor of University of Mumbai. The topic of his lecture was “Future of Universities”
Dr. Rajan Welukar has conveyed how transition is taking place in higher education system. He highlighted that teaching and learning process has changed and innovated and how alternative innovative things are happening in the system. He emphasized on creating learning environment where empowering the learner to take the charge of learning.
Dr. Rajan Welukar said, “Universities must bring the experience of inter and multidisciplinary approach into the classroom. The universities need to think out of the box and have to be innovative. You need to be empowering the students for their future with out of the box approach. At university system we should not talk of best practices, we need to talk about next practices, because today’s best practice may not exist tomorrow. Therefore, we need to create an environment of next practices. You don’t know after four years of degree what is going to be offers, so students should update their knowledge.”
Popular Lecture Series initiative taken by Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) A W Santhosh Kumar. Amity University, Mumbai intent to invite eminent personalities to speak on some very important contemporary issues of research and academia.
