High-level “Education Trade Mission” from USA visits Amity University

 

A high-level “Education Trade Mission” from USA, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, to discuss and explore the potential areas of collaboration between USA Universities and Amity University and to promote International Trade between India and USA.  The visit was organized by US Commercial Services Dept, Embassy of United States in India and the delegation was led by Ms. Gabriela Zelaya- Global Education Team Leader, U.S. Commercial Service, San Jose and Mr. Harold “Lee” Brayman - Commercial Officer, U.S. Commercial Service, Mumbai. The delegation comprised of 90 esteemed dignitaries from 20 US Universities, including, University of Virginia, City University of Seattle, SUNY Stony Brook University, Saint Martin's University and The Pennsylvania State University amongst others, along with high-profile US Government Officials. 

 

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Gabriela Zelaya - Global Education Team Leader, U.S. Commercial Service, San Jose, averred, “Over the past few years, India and US have shared good bilateral relations and today, India is the largest export and trading partner of the US. Through the Signing of the MoU, US Universities and Amity will mark the beginning of a mutually beneficial strategic partnership which will entail all areas such as academic, research, technological, scientific and industry collaboration. We are committed to strengthen our association with India, in all spheres, including international trade between India and US. The New Education Policy (NEP 2020) of India, encompasses a global outlook and approach and through this collaboration, our aim is to adopt the best higher education and e-learning practices, beneficial for both countries.”

 

Welcoming the esteemed Guests and Dignitaries, Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Additional President, RBEF & Chancellor, Amity University, stated, “The diversity and magnitude of the delegation highlights the fact that together Amity and US Universities can create a huge impact and transform the destiny of the world. Amity and US Universities draw synergies of research, innovation, technological development and outcome-based learning; therefore, this collaboration will be highly valuable for both the institutions and countries. Knowledge attained through education contributes to the economic development of a country and global exposure develops and international outlook and perspective amongst the students which makes them into truly global citizens of the world.”

 

Sharing her views on the occasion and introducing the senior faculty members of Amity, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Amity has created a benchmark in the field of education not only India but globally as well.  Amity is a highly flexible institution which provides the students with global opportunities and focusses on multi-disciplinary aspect of education. When educational institutions of two countries collaborate, they can transform the world and contribute to its growth through mutual cooperation, bilateral thinking, holistic approach and combined efforts. Amity is extremely delighted to work together with US Universities and lead the world on the path of economic growth and development.”

 

Also present on the occasion were Dr. Nitin Batra, CEO, Amity Institute of Training and Development (AITD), Mr. Amol Chauhan, Senior Vice President, Amity Capital Ventures and Mr. Abhay Chauhan, Vice President, Amity University Online.

 

The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities India and Worldwide, who also made a presentation on Amity with special emphasis on NEP 2020 and Amity’s US presence and current partnerships. A presentation on ‘Innovation & Research’ carried out by Amity, was made by Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation (ASTIF). The visit concluded with the Felicitation of the Guests and a Campus Familiarization Tour by the esteemed dignitaries.
