Amity Chennai - Concluding Ceremony 2019

An auspicious day, Thursday, 09 May, 2019 began with a prayer song invoking the blessings of the almighty. Dr. S. Vengadamani, Director AGBS Chennai delivered an amazing address to the august gathering. Her insightful words filled the audience with enthusiasm and nostalgia. She eagerly expressed symbolically, the transition of students as “from buds to flowers”, who are now ready for a wonderful journey that lies ahead! The young students move from a sheltered and safe position and are entirely equipped to meet the competitive and harsh reality of the world outside.

It was our privilege to be in the presence of Shri U. Ramachandran, Senior Vice President & Head AGBS national campuses. He addressed the students to fix your dream and vision: in two real – life examples on successful entrepreneurship, Mr. Ritesh Aggarwal who is founder and CEO of OYO, (Own Your Own). OYO is an online platform for hotel booking in India. OYO’s objective is to change the way people stay away from home. The other remarkably young entrepreneur was Mr. Tilak Mehta, a class 8 student, is leveraging the dabbawala network to help Mumbai residents’ courier Papers N Parcels around the city for same-day delivery at the cheapest rates.

Shri U. Ramachandran sir reinforced on Amity unique commitment on behavioral science as a catalyst for young students to be genuine human beings. He transcended by sharing his belief in God and also to seek blessings from parents with reflections from the Bhagavad Gita where he quoted the teachings of Lord Krishna; “perform the duties and join upon you, action is always better than actionlessness”. His memorable conclusion was, grace to hear patiently, consider diligently, understand rightly, decide justly, grant  due humility and  may not be misled by your willfulness and vanity and egotism, let us celebrate the long journey of discovery and creating value for yourself, family and your country.

Mr. T. Prabhakar, Executive Director, Green Valley Shelters, a real estate projects company in Chennai also graced the ceremony. He stressed on two aspects; first, never give up & second, to quote the late Steve Jobs, “Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition”.

Today was the day when 2019 batch shall reap the fruits of sincere efforts made over the past years at Amity Chennai to achieve the coveted goal.
