Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “TIME SERIES AND PANEL DATA ANALYSIS”

 Amity College of Commerce & Finance (ACCF) started with six-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “TIME SERIES AND PANEL DATA ANALYSIS” from 24th June till 29th June 2019 at Amity University Noida campus.

 The one-week FDP aims to provide to all the participants rigorous learning on various research techniques using R (A programming language) and other software and an introduction to the analysis of panel data.

 Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sujata Khandai, Director, ACCF averred that the institute aims towards exceling in the area of research and innovation and in order to do path-breaking research, faculty members must be well equipped with both, skills and knowledge. “This FDP is a great opportunity for all the faculty members to hone their skills and accrue knowledge, which would prove fruitful in the long run”, she added. Dr. Khandai encouraged the faculty members and research scholars to do in-depth research by exploring the unchartered territories in the domain of Finance and Commerce.

 Mr. Miklesh Yadav, Area Chair Finance, RDIAS – Rohini apprised the participants about RStudio and use of the tool for statistical computing and graphics. He briefed about the concept of Time Series, Deterministic Trend and Stochastic Trend and furthermore, explained about the various components and features of the Time Series and elucidated the process of uploading data and entering commands in the RStudio.

 Mr. Yadav clarified the doubts of the participants related to Deterministic and Stochastic Trend and emphasized upon the methods for analysing time series data in order to extract meaningful statistics and other characteristics of the data.

The week-long FDP would include sessions on Dealing with Structural Break Point, Introduction of Time Series Regression, Causality and Co-integration, Differencing and Detrending and Unit Root Testing amongst others. More than 80 Faculty members and Research Scholars participated in the programme.
