The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology of Amity Medical School, Amity University Gurugram in collaboration with Rotary Blood Centre, Gurugram organised a Blood Donation Camp, on 22th September 2023. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ranjay Kumar Chaudhary, Ms. Meenakshi, Mr. Rajeev Kumar Jha and Dr. Gowhar Rashid.

The event commenced with the team conducting various tests and examinations on the participants, including Hb (Hemoglobin) tests, vital examinations (blood pressure, weight, height, and heart rate testing), and general health assessments. In total, 221 participants benefitted from these tests, with 188 of them being deemed eligible for blood donation. As part of the event, the Rotary team organized a refreshment area for the participants, and they also expressed their appreciation by presenting tokens of gratitude to the donors. Additionally, the donors were recognized for their selfless act with appreciation certificates and donor cards from the Rotary Blood Centre, Gurugram. A total of 40 students and 4 faculty members participated in the event.

In conclusion, the blood donation camp promoted the importance of blood donation, provided a vital service to the community, and raised awareness about the significance of regular blood screening tests. Moreover, the program offered free blood screening tests for various diseases, including HIV, HbsAg, HCV, VDRL, and Malarial parasite testing to the participants.
