Amity University Jharkhand organized ASSOCHAM National Summit on Skilling India – The way Forward Awards -2017

Amity university Jharkhand 31/07/2017 : The ASSOCHAM National Summit on Skilling India – the Way Forward Awards -2017 on Monday, 31st July 2017 in which Amity University Jharkhand got the award for the Best Upcoming University”. The award and certificate was presented by Shri C.P Singh, Hon'ble Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Transport Department and Shri Ajay Kumar Singh (IAS), Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Jharkhand, in presence of Shri Ajay kumar Singh (IAS), Development Commissioner, Govt. of Jharkhand, Shri Ravi Ranjan (IFS) Mission Director, JSDMS, Govt. of Jharkhand, Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha, Director, Central Tasar Research and Training Institute , Govt. of India, Ranchi. There were also present various industry experts and education leaders from the institutes of higher learning and universities from all over India.

The award and certificate was received by Mr. Gauravh Gupta, Assistant Vice-President, Amity Education Group and Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kumar Jha, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Jhakhand.

Shri Ajay Kumar Singh (IAS), Secretary, Higher and Technical Education , Govt. of Jharkhand, in his speech emphasized that “the industries as well as the educational institutions should work together to fulfill the aims of Skilling India. This way the educational institutions will get to know about the current needs of the industry. In order to educate students with the latest trends of the industry, help of the industry experts must be taken who in turn will be able to provide hands –on training to the students. The Jharkhand government is looking forward towards such plans".

Shri Ravi Ranjan (IFS) Mission Director, JSDMS, Govt. of Jharkhand said “ For the first time in the schools of Jharkhand Skill India programme has been started. In the first round of this Skill India mission students of 100 schools are getting training. Besides technical skills, the students also require soft skills for their all round development. Jharkhand is the first state in India where Mega Skill Center has been opened and in association with renowned companies the training program is being conducted.”

Expressing his delight on receiving the “Best Upcoming University of Jharkhand” award for Amity University Jharkhand, Prof .(Dr) Raman Kumar Jha, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Amity University Jharkhand said “ It is time to develop our skills which in turn will bring about economic development of our country”. He also talked about skill development ,challenges and issues in Industry where he highlighted the need of vocational training at national and international level.

Thereafter, Dr. Ajit Kr. Sinha, Director, Central Tasar and Research Training Institute deliberated on road map of skill and entrepreneurship in Jharkhand.

The other dignitaries were Shri RP Singh , Former MD and CEO JSD MS spoke on “ Skilling Ecosystem in India”, Dr. SP Singh , Ex-VC Veer Kunwar Singh University, Arah, spoke on “ Domestic and Global Skill Development Scenario”, Shri Sanjay Singh HOD Finance IICM , Coal India Limited, Faculty IIM , spoke on “Skill development challenges and issues in India with special reference to coal industry".

Shri P. K Singh HOD ( E-office) Project monitoring unit Central coal Fields Limited, Ranchi, talked about “Emerging Global Trends in Skill Management in the purview of Advancement of ICT.”

The ASSOCHAM National summit on skilling India – the way forward awards -2017 ended with the question answer session with the audience and the remarks of the Chairman of both the technical sessions.
