Guest Lecture Celebrating World Mental Health Day 2022 on the Theme “World Suicide Prevention Day” Organized by Amity Institute of Behavioral and Applied Sciences

Amity Institute of Behavioral and Applied Sciences organized a guest lecture commemorating World Mental Health Day with the theme on “World Suicide Prevention Day” on October 10th, 2022. Mr. Satish Kumar Kaushik, Founder and Trustee, Rajbala Foundation emceed the session as the expert speaker.

The program commenced with a welcoming address, followed by the facilitation of our prominent speaker. Dr. Rajesh Nair initiated the discussion by addressing the subject of World Mental Health Day as well as basic mental health awareness with the attendees. "A few days more" was the first film shown. The prior session left the stage free for our distinguished guest speaker. Our respected speakers influenced audiences by discussing another vital life subject, happiness in the context of palliative care. The pupils learned about several ways for instilling pleasure and enjoying every current moment in their lives.

Mr. Satish Kaushik holds an MBA and is the director of the Rajbala Foundation, a non-profit organisation that seeks to improve the lives of cancer patients. The speaker also offered students with numerous prospects and professional pathways in the field of psychology. Moving further, the speaker emphasised the need of palliative care for individuals suffering from severe diseases. Dr. Rajesh Nair (Director, AIBAS) concluded the event with a vote of gratitude to the speaker, other academic members, audience, and other supporting personnel.

The event's goal was to commemorate World Mental Health Day under the subject "Make mental health and well-being a worldwide priority for all." The schedules for both movie showing were determined and communicated in advance so that all senior students, professors, and research scientists could attend. The first documentary and instructional film, "A few days more," focused on psycho-oncology and palliative care, was shown in Audi (in person) for staff and students to raise awareness about this emerging issue of healthcare. Following the film, an interactive session (Q&A) was organised in which students and the speaker interacted. The second film, "Inside Out," had been shown afterward, in which the audience learned about the various types of emotions that humans experience and the significance of each emotion. Dr. Rajesh Nair finished the session.
