A Workshop “Lighting for Portraits: From Natural to Studio”
A Workshop “Lighting for Portraits: From Natural to Studio” was organised by Creative Fusion on 13th November 2025. The primary aim was to provide students with an in-depth and practical understanding of lighting as one of the most critical elements of visual composition in photography and related creative disciplines.
The workshop aimed to strengthen students’ ability to shape mood, depth, and form through light by exposing them to both standard and creative lighting setups, including the use of RGB lights. By demonstrating how lighting principles apply not only to portrait photography but also to fields such as 3D modeling, architectural visualization, and visual graphics, the programme emphasized the versatility and universal relevance of lighting knowledge across creative industries.
Through this experiential learning approach, the workshop sought to empower participants to use lighting intentionally as a creative tool to enhance visual storytelling and produce high-impact professional-quality results. The workshop successfully fulfilled its objectives of advancing technical competence, enhancing creative understanding, and broadening students’ perspectives on the role of lighting across multiple creative disciplines. It not only strengthened participants’ photographic skills but also equipped them with a versatile visual tool that will benefit their future work in photography, design, and digital media.
